Talking I think I finally have it!!! Critics wanted

Well I have had my car for like 8 months now, and since the day I bought it, I have been trying to figure out which way I was going to go with it. Well I do believe I may have finally figured it out.

I currently have an ftp lid, slp maf, and a p&p tb and a chokemaster. Sitting in my den is a hooker exhaust with headers and ory waiting to go on. I am thinking I want to do a TSP torquer v.2 cam 232/234 595/598 112lsa, with a 3600 vig stall, tranny cooler, and some 3.73s. LS6 oil pump, ls2 timing chain, and the cam kit comes with PRC dual springs and hardened chromoly pushrods. I'm pretty sure that's all I need for the cam swap... I want to add a mecham hood, some black 17" c5z06's with a chrome lip, halo projectors and some black racing stripes. I have some stock 10 spoke ss rims now, but I want the vette rims.

Well that's all I have planned for now. What do you guys think?

minus the wheels it sounds great, I'd rather have the 10 spokes over any c5 wheel, but would still prefer aftermarket of some sort

sounds like a fun ride though

Is that cam of yours a custom grind? I was considering a custom grind cam, but I don't know the first thing about specs on my own cam.

BTW, is that all I need for a cam swap?

you will also need water pump gaskets (they were the only gaskets I replaced) and its recommended you use a new crank pulley bolt (I didn't know at the time so I reused mine)

I guess you can technically call it a custom grind...its like the tr230 but on weaker lobes because I didn't know enough about what I was doing when I ordered it, just had a friend of a friend at comp give me a good price at a time when I was told for some reason there would be a delay from thunder racing...wishing I would have either got the true tr230 or got something specced by Pat G or something

it's a good cam and all, but I think I left some power on the table and doing it over I'd look into something else

I would do a Futral cam and never get caught with vette wheels other than that you have some good choices

I don't like that those and zr1s are the only wheels 98% of fbody people ever choose between, and don't really care for either of them on top of that.

Thunder, thanks for the info on the gaskets and crank pulley bolt, will do those as well.

Detoxx, where can I get a look at a Futral cam. To be honest, I have never even heard of one.

Flint, I noticed that TSP has them on back order big time. It'll probably be a bit before I can do the cam swap anyway, so hopefully they have them by then.

As far as the c5z06 rims go, I was trying to find a nice set of rims, but couldn't really find any so I settled on those. can anyone tell me where to get a look at some nice aftermarket rims? I tried tomzwheels, but it doesn't ever work right for me.

True, they are pretty damn common, but they look way better than the stock wheels and they can be had for so cheap. I mean, if money was no concern I would definately broaden my horizens some, but I'd rather spend the money on stuff that will help me go faster.

No on the hood or stripes. Stripes=ugly as ****. I'm getting tired of C5Z replicas on everything. Plus 17s all around in C5Z style looks kind of bad.

Tom Closed Tomzwheels due to personal reasons. IDK if/when he will open it back up or not.

looks like a good overall setup. but i would ditch the 17's. go with 18" chrome C5 Z06 rims instead.

I think your setup is pretty good, idk about cams since i havent bothered looking into them at all. As for the wheels, i would go with 18's all around. I can see why some ppl dont like them, there's so much ppl with them but they do look good on f-bodys for budget wheels.

Since your's is an Auto like mine, add a Performabuilt Transmission to your list.

I would stay with 17's. More sidewall = more traction
