If you want cheapest, I cannot help you.

If you want a good one, try DAS (Dependable Auto Shippers).

Have had two cars shipped with them. One from L.A. and another from Fort Lauderdale, both to me here. No problems either time.

DAS is ok but expensive.

Try Uship.com. Worked great to get my car from Chicago to Nashville.

I have used Matson, not sure where all they ship, but I had mine shipped from New England to Hawaii. I had 2 problems when I picked it up, the battery was dead(expected that because it sat for 3 months before I picked it up) and the hood somehow got misaligned.

I gotta say to stay away from DAS. Had a car shipped from NY to CA and they spilled oil/coolant all over the paint and wouldn't cover the damage.

did you ever consider flying down to seattle to pick up 'r up and drive it home?

pick up the local yellow pages and try looking in that for car shippers

this is interesting because i always wondered if it was worth buying a car and having it shipped vs. buying local and paying more. where i am in NC there seems to be some sort of unjustified premium on LS1 cars especially 2000+. I stopped to look at a 2002 T/A today and they wanted 13,999 for it with 66,000 miles. The cheapest car I found was a 2002 Z28 bank repo with 69k for $9000. I hear stories on this site all the time about guys finding cars for like 4 and 5 thousand. I would love to pay that but i cant find a care at close to that price.

I am also in NC, and I have also noticed the prices being high in comparison to what the guys on tech say they they find them for all the time. How expensive is shipping a car? I know if varies by how far, but I can't imagine it would be cheap.

So your shipping to or from Alaska?? If it's coming to Alaska you'll definately want to pick it up in Anchorage.
I've used Horizen van lines. You can put it into a container by it's self which will go on the boat. Or just have it put inside the boat. They ship alot of cars and boats to and from Alaska. Or theres Totem Ocean Express. I used them to ship all of my Bayliners up from Washington. There are a few trucking companies. But your car will be exposed to the elements and thrashed. You also need to remember it's almost 4000 miles from Anchorage to Seattle by road which is through Canada.
