Well that is a pretty good RPM jump. While you're going 60 and turning 2050 Im going 75 and still turning less. My buddy with 3.23's got 23 on the highway before the cam and stall. I'm not sure what he's getting now.

Don't waste your time man. Although I don't think it hurts performane that much. My car bone *** stock ran 13.48 around 105MPH. With the LS6 and a "tune" which really isnt a real tune just taking out the EGR AIR top speed limiter and a couple other small things it ran 13.22 at 107MPH. So not really lacking in the power dept. The way it works though is my car is in the power band longer. I like being able to get 1st at 45MPH too, lol. It just isn't worth it really. 2.73 is a little stronger gear then the 3.23, not that it matters to much on a weak *** 10 bolt. Bottem line is just keep the 3.23 and take it a little more easy if you're looking for more MPG. Most people on here say to hell with MPG and some then complain later how thier MPG sucks and say people with there stock cars are lieing about thier MPG.

Yea I am lucky to get 200 on a full tank in my car. I drive it like its a honda accord too, and it still doesnt matter. I have seen up to 350 on all highway though. I have done a seafoam recently, all plugs, wires, and filters are fresh too. I don't get it. I do live in the clogged up Philadelphia area though.

I just made the swap from 2.73's to 3.73's and haven't even gone through a full tank yet so don't know what I'm getting now.
With 2.73's I just to get 21-23 mpg with a best of 26 mpg when my car was just lid/catback.
Thats about the RPM I'm turning with 3.73's @ 60 MPH. Used to run around 1250 RPM @ 60 with 2.73's.

Not THAT much smaller. 15.5 gallon for the '98 vs 16.2 gallon for the '99+.
I DD my '02 Z with 2.73s and it's totally stock. I do 75% highway and 25% city driving, to the tune of about 24mpg when driving easy. It drops to about 21-22mpg when I drive aggressive.

Just got back a couple hours ago from a 1200 mile round trip to Ohio and averaged a hair under 23mpg all hiway miles on every tank.
City the stall kills me and I am lucky to get 14-15.
This bitch was fun on the W.V. turnpike (I-77)
......other than some of the roughass road.

My 98 A4, 2.73 with only a lid gets 22-24 local driving and 28-30 on all highway at 70-75 MPH. Factory tune including original plugs and wires. Still pulls hard and runs great!!!
