i am asking because I can pick up some center bolt heads to replace my perimeter bolt heads for about 50 bucks from a friend. I dont want to do a head change and put stock heads on so can the stock heads be worked and be worth it or should i just keep what i got.

Not worth it unless they're 243's IMHO. You can find 243's on here all day long for $500-$600 plus shipping.
Honestly, with shipping and everything (50 lbs., comes to about $40-$50 UPS ground), if you're on a tight budget, it's probably best just to buy some budget heards. PRC heads from Texas Speed, Patriots, etc. But, IMHO, nothing beats the cost/performance of used stock 243's. But, that's just me.
Honestly, do an LS6 intake while you're at it.
If you're bone stock and add 243's, and an LS6 intake ($300+shipping on here), you're going to have a big smile on your face when you're done.

they are 241 heads i can get them for about 50 bucks. I had my machinest look at them a little today he said he would do them for 320 dollars just wondering if the gain would be worth it.
