Default Engine Cover Alternative

Here is how I replaced the plastic engine covers with polished aluminum
on the LS6 in my C2. What do you think?

looks like a mix of old school vs new school, seems like too much going on for my taste, but props for trying something new.

IMO, it would look much better without the 2 covers on the intake

I think that's a good thing considering the car the ls6 is in...and definitely cool to try something new! looks good.

i would be against the coil pack covers,it would trap alot of heat and not allow the coils to properly cool and i would think it would effect the lifespan of the part itself.

Default heat transfer

Good point and thanks for bringing it up. My own opinion is that this aluminum cover acts as a heat sink. I believe it actually draws heat out of the coil and provides it to the surrounding air for cooling especially now that it is no longer under a plastic cover. I have no data to prove this opinion but plan to collect it.
