The car is a nearly stock daily driver. It needs to remain perfectly drivable and dependable. I am thinking of installing an aftermarket 9" rear for when I go to the track and just to have a stronger piece in general. Can the 9" work well for a daily driver?

and I do want to keep this car. I just want it to be safe and dependable considering I drive it quite a bit (200 miles a week avg) and go to the track every now and then. I don't want to have it break at the track or something stupid to happen and have it out of commission.

I saw a friend of mine break his on his burnout. He was on motor when he did it (it was the cars second pass ever, first was on motor and rolled off the line). Second pass does burnout and CLUNK, over

Best place to start at the rearend, if you ever decide to modify it the 9" will handle what ever you throw at it. I started at the engine and have broken the rearend and the transmission. wish i would have done the rearend first then the tranny and engine.

yeah.. the more I thought of what I want to do mod-wise to this car.. the more I kept thinking about the rear and how it would hold up. I thought about risking it.. but I'd rather be having fun racing my car instead of worried most of the time.

if you happen to sell the car later on the road, save your 10 bold, maybe re-shim it if its making noise. if you do sell it, just swap the stock rear back in, and get a good chunk of change for the 9in or re-use it
