once you have 2 cars you'll never go back too one. dd is a shitty 96 saturn that gets 30mpg all around and 35+hwy. you will save a lot of money in just gas alone(extra money goes too beast)

I got my S60 directly from Strange, with the Truetrac and 3.54 gears. All the stock parts bolted right up, and the mount for the torque arm is actually cast into the center section, instead of a afterthought on the 12 bolt and 9". I run it with Lucas non-synthetic 80w90 and GM limited slip additive.

I opted for the driveshaft as well, the quality is second to none. It is COMPLETELY quiet, and has worked flawlessly. You will not be disappointed with a S60.

Where are you all buying the S60 from and about how much? Summit or Jegs? I got 160,000 on a stock 10 bolt, I guess I am either just lucky or don't drive it hard enough.

Very true. Thanks for the input everyone. I've got an offer in on a house now in Millbrook AL, with the taj mahal of work shops too. I'll see if I can't swing a beater car out of the deal some how.

Midwest Chassis will be getting the sale for me. I think I'll be able to use my father-in-law's beater sanoma while its down waiting for it to be built. Hopefully I can get started in ~6 weeks, pending the purchase of the house!

If you going to purchase a rear end now go with the S60 you cannot hurt it...a dana 60 is bullet proof to say the least...that was what was under the back of my super stock hemi car and needless to say that one got plenty of abuse NHRA class racing back in the day....you'll never spend any more $$$ on a rear end if you get a 60 .. you can bolt on the stickest tires you want and never have to worry about it ...

I wonder which carrier to go with. I've heard some negative things about the trutrac, but its a 35spline trutrac... I bet its pretty hard to break that one. I initially thought about going with the locker, but if the trutrac is just as reliable then I might go with it instead. I could handle the noise of the locker just fine though... I just want it to be really posi, and none of this "spining the one tire in the grass" crap ever again. The locker would at least spin the same speed even if I decided to do some rock crawling in the Z and managed to get one wheel in the air, lol.

I never have had a trutrack ... all of my experience with dana 60s had either a spool or a detroit locker in them....one thing about a locker is it is bullet proof too.

Yeah, I think Im gonna go with a locker. Its crazy to think that a noise related to a rear end is the sound of it NOTbreaking, lol.

Now, all I need to do is move back to Alabama... I think I can swing both: the S60 and an LQ9. Where will I find the best outlet for selling my 135k 98 LS1? If I can benefit from the same pool of idiots that spend $8k for an LS2 then I would really like that, lol.
