I can imagine how annoying it is, but I have a funny story about someone asking if I had a cutout. It wasn't a young punk or just some moron not knowing what they were talking about, but I kid you not it was an 80 something year old lady at the mall. I started my car while she was walking by, she came up to my passenger side window, cane and all and asked if I had a cutout. I busted up laughing, she couldn't understand why. I had to tell her that it was just a bit odd for someone of her age to ask me that. She laughed and said that she likes that kind of stuff. That made my day.

Things people will say is like:
"Does it have a cutoff?"
"Open the cutoff."
"Damn that cutoff sounds sick."
"MM you got a cutoff, whats that?"
"Do cutoffs come stock on trans ams?"
op,
so what kind of cutoff do you have?
where did you buy your cutoff?
do you open your cutoff much?

Yea usually i'll just say its a dump on the end of the Y pipe I can open and close electronically with a switch. People, well older people somewhat understand it when I say that to them.

sorry dude, a million videos couldnt change my mind. I ******* hate the way they sound, especially on a Y pipe. I think open headers sound like *** on our cars as well. These motors have a funny raspy airy sound to them that i hate, now a dragster at the track should have open headers...

Don't complain because people don't know what to call a certain part. What if someone came up and started asking you about Christians or Jesus or some ****. Most people are gonna look retarded while trying to talk about it. lol just sayin. Not everyone is a car person. Just correct them and they won't do it to you again.

I just dont see why you guys don't explain to your friends what it is and what it does....and pronunciate when you talk and then they would know it's called a cutout.

how did we go from discussing cut-outs to discussing a muffler system with actual mufflers? Talk about your apples to oranges.....
