When you talking to someone and whenever they talk about ur exhaust or the cutout on your car they'll call it a "cutoff" ... ITS NOT A ******* CUTOFF, WTF IS A CUTOFF, CUT OUT, spell it C U T O U T. I don't get it, I have friends who have known what I have for 2years now, and they still call it a cutoff, where the **** do people get cutoff from out of cutout?
Things people will say is like:
"Does it have a cutoff?"
"Open the cutoff."
"Damn that cutoff sounds sick."
"MM you got a cutoff, whats that?"
"Do cutoffs come stock on trans ams?"

When I'm explaining what it is, I ask someone if they know what a cutout is. Almost everyone responds with "Yeah, but how does that make it so loud?". I then ask them what they think it is, and they respond with "Well, something that cuts the fuel whenever you're going to fast or the rpms are too high"... No one has a clue.

I hear that ALL the time. What is that? I guess they think we "cut off" our exhaust or something. Maybe its a pun I don't get.
I guess it all really comes down to is: They're retarded and my **** sounds good.

if they aren't into cars ( and they're not if they're pissing you off like this) just call it a muffler bypass or something. I've tried to tell people I have a stall and you can imagine how that pans out.

Well the only definition i know of for CUTOFF is mainly used for people who run a scrap yard or buy cores from people. When a part say for instance a transmission they need. They will half *** some stuff and cut stuff. Then when you ask the core people where is it from they call it a cutoff from a junkyard. But i have heard them call it a cutout too.
But when your refering to exhaust and you say cutout my fav. is when people say ooooo so your exhaust has been cutout. WTF who the hell what??????????

I have a friend with a 2002 M3 in my town of 11,000 people that has AC shnitzer exhaust and a cut-out. Key words here 11,000 people. Imagine the looks on the ppl's faces when he tries to explain what its function is. You don't know how many times we have made dumbasses like this get down on their hands and knees and watch as he hits the electric switch on his switch panel that actually opens the cut out to explain what it really does and what it is. I feel your pain...
