You can buy a car from any state, but if you get one from a northern state, be VERY careful of underbody rust. It's o.k. to pay a premium for a car that lived it's entire life in the desert. Check the Carfax for history.

Good luck.
Yeah, BE PATIENT!!! I waited and I am happy with my Trans Am. I hurried at first and bought 70 Lemans and I hated the car to death, I was extremely lucky to get rid of it and only lose $200 or $300, I waited a little while after that and pretty much got my dream car, an 80 Special Edition Trans Am for $2500!!!

Also, don't worry about the color, a good repaint shouldn't be more than $1000!!

Here is the kind of work my shop I work for does for $800 or so.

Like everyone else, don't rush. I am happy with my car, but I always wanted a Trans Am and now I regret not getting one every day. I'll eventually have to buy one of those and now I don't want to get rid of my camaro. So i'll have to have both.

Just look it over in and out and take 100s of pictures if needed incase you miss something. Someone said look for leaks and thats good advice, but don't forget some things are an easy fix.

just wow. if the bank likes what it sees, i can make him an offer. sell my truck to carmax hopefully, and i should be good to go...

This is a long shot but: Would that WS-6 happen to be for sale in Henderson, NV? I ask because a few years ago I flew to Vegas to buy my SS from a guy that live in Henderson and the pic above looks like his neighborhood (gated community, REALLY nice). AND the guy had a WS-6!!! If that's the same one I can tell you that the car HAS been taken care of. The guy was awesome to deal with.
I can e-mail him and see if it's his or not.

yup its located in henderson. and in my opinion the car is amazing and has everything i want in an Fbody. but im not sure what he would do with his price. and i just wouldnt be able to have that one, and the truck. and theres no way im gonna be able to sell the truck anytime soon. if i buy the cheaper one though, i won't have a payment on it because i can pay cash, and then take my time selling the truck.

so i looked at the one i originally posted. WOW. the car is in perfect condition.

he let me drive it (keep in mind i haven't driven a stick for around 5 years) and i still managed to do okay. Guy used to be a driving instructor at a place that had corvettes and camaros. so he was able to give me a few tips. but wow. that car has power, in any gear. hopefully i can sell my truck. I NEED THIS CAR. haha

Howdy from CGP.
Don't forget, with ever F-body comes the required .

Don't settle man, makesure it's what you want.
Look out for the normal stuff, rear, window motor, leaks.

I Love my F-body.
But I may want to sell her in the near future for a Vette.

Deals are out there.
Got mine for a steal at the time.
Check the classifieds here.

exactly. it also helps the people that owned it are a bit older, took GREAT care of it. it honestly looks like a brand new car. it is flawless. not a single scratch on it. black leather interior, in perfect condition as well. its just wow, other then the 8X,XXXk on the odometer, i'd honestly think it was never even driven lol

Don't be afraid to pay a few thousand more for a nicer car. Also people said be aware of known fluid leaks, well I bought my 95 Camaro with a very tiny oil and coolant leak and haven't had any issues yet. Leaks a quart like every two months, it's not enough to be worth fixing. The coolant leak sucked but then I fixed it and now it just seeps out like the oil. If you get an amazing deal like I did I wouldn't worry about fluid leaks. I payed $1000 for my car, only put 4000miles on it and I have had it 9 months or so. I got a great deal on it so I could care less if it leaked or not. I don't think I would do it with a $10,000 car though. I bought my car from the lady across the street, they are the original owners and I knew they didn't mistreat the car.

Just make sure you like the car, DO NOT BUY ANYTHING if there is even a HINT that you don't like it!!! Trust me, I made this mistake with my 70 Lemans, I will never do it again.

yeah i hear ya on all that.

from a quick look, it doesn't have any leaks. but i will look over it much closer with my dad if/when i do commit to buying it.

and, i think i've posted it before, but this is the exact car i want. if it were the year 2000, and i had 32k in my pocket, this is the EXACT car i'd order. lets just put it like that lol
