Default alaskas roads may make me buy a charger!!! :(

I live in alaska with some harsh winters, i want to buy a car that is awd and is a v8 is RWD or AWD, after searching the only thing that fits that catagory new or used is a dodge charger r/t AWD. low 14 et.

some people say the RWD version will also work since it is so heavy, but i think AWD is alot better imo, anyone know any alternatives? a car this is v-8 powered that handles good in the snow?

If i cant find one then i will trade in my cobalt ss/tc sedan and get that charger for the fiance and i will get me a RWD v8 car for the summer, only thing is i want it to be v8 also and have good handling, but not be driven in the winter, after searching the possible 4 are:

05+ gt mustang
04-05 GTO
08+? G8 gt
charger/magnum r/t RWD

the biggest thing i am worrying about is good handling with the pull similar that my 00 formula had. the formula did brake good but when you got into it in a corner it had the feeling that it would give the *** end away at any moment, thankfully it never did!

AWD Charger or AWD 300C will both kick ***, especially with studded snow tires on.

like a monte carlo ss or impala ss or something like that? well, i have a 09 cobalt ss and its supposed to have minimal torque steer, so i read.

only i can def. feel the different steering between a FWD and RWD or AWD and i think if the ls4 cars have worse torque steer than the cobalt, i will not enjoy driving it that much.

atleast the interior is nicer than the f-body lol, and i hear if you get a road and track or daytona version, it upgrades a few things as well.

srt-8 is waaaay above my price range, the used charger is gonna be around 20k and a sportscar for me will be 12-20k as well, the srt8 is like 48k msrp right? and i have seen a few trailblazer ss's for sale for 22-26k for awd ones, might consider it, but might ultimately get the charger due to the woman pulling her do-it-or-dont-get-any card on me. she really wants a car

I know you said V8, but if I were to buy an AWD car it would be either a WRX STi, or Evo 9. Both will handle better than any of the cars you listed, and with a few minor mods will be pretty quick.

thats funny because if i did go 4 cyl those would be the only 2 cars i would go with AWD, ecxept maybe a 98 ish eclipse. it all comes back to the v8 sound and pull, and if i cant find a happy medium than i prob will buy a evo or sti for DD and good in winters that i can put a car seat in, and also get a lsx car for me in the summer...

If you have never driven an STi I seriously reccomend trying that out before you buy, you can upgrade the stock turbo on those cars and easily be running low 13's with out pushing much boost. Oh, and the handling is freaking insane.

That's an easy fix, search the suspension section, you need to get rid of the shitty stock shocks for somethings with good dampening.
