i can kind of feel your pain there man.
while my grand prix was no monster, and was wrong wheel drive, its still leeps and bounds faster then my ranger lol
everytime i drive the grand prix, it feels so quick. just becuase the truck is so slow.
i think it may be good for like high 15's in the 1/4 mile lol
and it gets shitty mpg's. so im getting the worst of everything.

Sounds like you need a "sporty" DD. Everyone told me to get a beater honda civic for a dd but i wouldnt listen because i knew i would be in your situation. So i got a 3000gt SL. Was a very nice car, only downside to it was FWD. It was also kind of an expensive car and i ended up having to sell it 8 months later. Now my daily beater is a 93 v6 firebird. Picked her up for 1600 bucks!

First off, FWD sucks.
Well just to sum it up, I sold my SS last November with the intentions of getting into a C6 or Beemer this past Spring. Also, I would have been getting rid of my truck too, an 07 Tacoma. Well, truck grew on me as I begin saving money. Thought about keeping it, but just using it to commute 85 miles daily was pretty boring. Fast forward, I have put 32,000 miles on it in 8 months, totaling 58,000 now. So obviously Im thinking I need to get a DD since I drive so much, depreciation, and mpg. Just a smart buy I guess.
So I bought a 2002 Civic this week so I can daily drive and planned on getting rid of truck to get back in nice fast car for weekend, whether it be a C6 or M car. Well, OMFG! I just can't take it no more. Its slow, obviously. Just kills me though going from a 550+ HP car to this 126 HP. Now it was my intent to just daily it, but I'm lost for words. I don't care about mpg's and car depreciation. I can barely live with this thing.
Im going to give it the rest of the week, but I'm not feeling it. Only good thing is I bought it for a great price and is a clean car. So it may go bye bye soon the way its going. My truck is no LS1 either, but it sure feels like it after driving this. What did I expect, reliable 40mpg and thats about it. And trust me thats all it is.
Anyone experience something similiar? Feel free to comment as Im going to cut my ***** off, I don't need them right now.

After this BS, my truck seems so much better. Only thing wrong with truck, its just not sports car. I'm the spirted driving type, but does feel good to be sitting up higher. I can deal with driving truck, but not that POS Civic. I will just have to assess whats going to be the best for me without trying to allocate a vehicle for daily driving, because that will be out of the question.
As mentioned, was my intent to get this DD for that only. I just can't live with driving it on anyday of the week, PERIOD. I guess once you drive a 408 cubed monster, anything less just wont do. I miss my car, but don't regret selling it. Just regret not getting back into it sooner. I sold it mainly because I want a car that can take curves, is agile, responsive steering, fast, good braking and at the end of the can be subtle and tame enough to go out and about. I never once took car down dragstrip, I like the twisties...........no, not a fan of the CTS-V and besides my roomate already has one.
Thanks for all your input and experiences. I think I learned my lesson and will be back in the seat in the near future.

some cars are ment for somepeople.I loved my old b18c1 (integra gsr motor) crx. best daily i ever had. I liked it more then my subaru wrx.
If you are really only pissed about the power then send me a pm and i can tell you how to make that thing scoot for VERY cheap and be very reliable and still get 40 mpg.
But if its past the point of the power then just sell it. They arent ment for you.

Doomsday I feel your pain very much. My DD is a ford escort with 212xxx miles, 4 cylinder model. To make it worse, the radio quit a long time ago, just can't see the point in spending more $$ on it unless it's to keep it running. Nothing like the BIRD for sure. Hope you get the vette asap. it like you stole it.....

Get a set of headers for that civic a good 2.5" cat back and a jackson racing supercharger for that biatch. With a good tune and a good intake manifold and proper fuel you could have a 250fwhp 25-30 mpg 5.0, GT, 2002-2004 GT eating monster!!! My buddy had a 02 Civic Si. It had a Jackson Racing supercharger on it p&p b18 heads, JE 9.5:1 pistons JE rods...basically a forged bottom end with a 10 pound pulley stage 3 clutch, upgraded LSD, and DC 4-2-1 headers with 2.5" magnaflow all the way back. After he got it tuned right and a conservative tune at that it made 279fwhp at 8,700 rpm and almost 200 ft. lbs of tq. The car has 300hp in it easily. It ran high 12.9-13.2's all day long with 2.0 60 ft. times (hondas suck at launching and hooking up). I think he trapped around 119-124mph most of the time with good air which means it could easily beat a lot of high 11 second cars judging by trap speed. It made a lot of LS1 and 05-up GT owners very very mad a lot of times and got 25 mpg consistently in the city. And you just couldn't imagine the whine coming from that little blower on that car it sounded amazing. Only rice burning car I've ever had a fetish for.

Yeah, I knew not to expect much. It just feels so awkward, almost unsafe because its so slow. Look at my Fquick in sig, I use to ride all the time for about 6 years. I got in trouble 3 years back and since then have sold my bikes. After awhile I just didnt feel like riding to work on bike anymore too.
As mentioned I planned on getting rid of truck, but this civic may be the first to go. I honestly was leaning more towards a used M5, M3, C6 Z and didn't want to put so much deprecitiation on it so I got this thing. So I may just reconsider a used base C6 as my only vehicle.

because if you do decided to take a base c6 vette as your only car your gonna regret not getting the car you were hoping to get, and it wont feel as rewarding when you drive the c6 as opposed to driving the civic on week days, and your bad *** z on the weekend.
basically just stick it out, im sure you've heard the phrase "good things come to those who wait."

^^^lmao i have a 96 saturn as a dd and i don't even pass no matter how slow someone is going in front of me. when i get on the highway its so slow at accelerating that it is pretty dangerous to drive. i do get 30mpg all around driving and 35+ hwy. sometimes i swap out to put a smile on my face. its the slowest worst car i could imagine but it will save me a lot of money and with that money comes more mods so in a way the dd contributes to the beast
