Thanks bro. I tried to get some pics but it was in the back of the salvage yard so I couldnt get to it at that point. The insurance people have all been out to see it, and the body shop where its at is almost positive its totalled. My lawyer is handling all the medical and pain and suffering adjusters (he has been doing personal injury for over 40 years and is the absolute best in north florida.) Hes also going to help make sure they dont screw me on the value of the car. I'll probably be in the market for a 01-02 WS6 m6 with under 50k miles here shortly at least....

Good to hear so far, so good. Helps having a good lawyer whose got your back on this. Lets hope you can get the parts off of your old bird or maybe at least be able to buy it back.

This is a real shame to hear, this car was in awesome condition/well taken care of. One of the nicer ones I had the pleasure of working on. I saw a picture of it on yellowbird1232's phone tonight. He popped you good man. Keep us updated

It wont take much for the insurance to claim your car as totalled man. Sorry to hear that, hope it turns out good for you and you dont get screwed and honestly. These car's dont depreciate in value very much, i still got $15 or $16thousand (cant remember exactly off the top of my head) for my 02 Z28 w/ just over 80k miles on it when i wrecked it.

Thanks for the kind words Bret. The old bastard used that impala like a battering ram!!! The only good news is I've been looking at some new cars here....Lets just say I'm looking to join the same "two seater club" you belong to I found a 2000 yellow C5 M6 with a few bolt ones, nice wheels , and 41k miles for 17k....and a 2001 Red z5 z06 with 25k miles for twenty even (but I am concerned with the oil consumption.) Either way I'm looking to be in a new car within the next few weeks!

I appreciate it buddy. Thats encouraging as hell to hear, I'm gunning for 18k then hahah In all seriousness, as long as they don't screw me I'll be a happy camper....always have the lawyer on speeddial just in case

I know the feeling, and maybe this might bring you some hopeful news considering my experience. Was on the freeway when traffic came to a stop, i stopped, a honda civic 4 door behind me stopped, the chevy trailblazer behind him didn't even touch his brakes. rear ended the civic hard enough to slam him into me, shove him to the side then proceed to hit me again, this pushed me under the neon in front of me and the neon into a 350z in front of him. i hit the neon hard enough that his license plate frame screwed itself into the front bumper of my car, was kinda funny actually. i had some neck pain, didn't go to the hospital, but did go to my dr for it. At the time i had progressive, and the next day, my insurance agent called me and said the insurance company of the person that hit me was going to cover everything, i'm assuming after hearing of my neck pain. I had the option of totalling the car or having it repaired. the repairs cost a total of 8k, and i wanted my car back. with the damage, they had to replace nearly every panel on the car and of course re-paint. In the end, it was essentially a brand new car. Plus they paid for my rental car while i was waiting for the car to get finished.

as hard as he hit me and everything else, this car looked surprisingly well considering the beating it took.

Ok ,here we go again .
PLEASE,PLEASE,PLEASE call an attorney now !
Do exactly what he tells you to do . No more,no less .
don't wait . If he's any good at all you should be sittin in the cat-bird seat with-in 3 or 4 weeks . Otherwise be prepared to have this drag out for 12 months.
You sit back and dream of driving your brand new 2SS 2010 Camaro while he does all the leg work .

UPDATE! Sorry I left this thread to die (I forgot all about it with all the craziness lately.) The insurance ruled the car a total loss last week and made me an offer of.....18,454.00 based on the current going price of our cars plus my extra aftermarket "custom coverage." **** YEAH! I overnighted them the title, and should have a check for that amount, minus my 250.00 deductible first of the week. I had an option to buy back, but in the end it would have costed my like 6-7k, so **** THAT. New car time I appreciate all the advice and everybodys help, I'm just happy I can stay in the game
