I probably should also mention that I also have a fox coupe roller that has been stripped for drag racing. I have thought about doing the conversion but I'm still leaning towards using my firebird.

I think the problem is that the rarity and price will only follow for the true enthusist. The normal individual won't care...and now it would even be a hard sell for enthusiast
Also, current F-body's, et. al.... haven't done anything historic.. i.e. win lemans, daytona...blah blah.... a bit cookie cutter for everyone....

This is the best answer. Mileage on rare old cars is meaningless if they've been fully restored.
If the car has some value when you are old, you can restore it to stock specs. And you won't have to pay through the nose for a "correct" 10 bolt axle because you have one in your garage.
