The PCM has nothing to do with the thermostat opening or closing. And no that's not why the gauge reads differently, it's basically a dummy gauge as stated. What does any of this have to do with this thread though? Maybe if he puts a stock thermostat in he will find his lost 150hp...

The reason the temp reads 200 on the dash cluster is because on 99+ motors its just an idiot gauge. HPTuners will show the correct temp the ecm is seeing though.
Sorry for the thread hijack, but are you saying that the temp gauge is inaccurate?

Yes i am. The gauge in 99-02 F-bodys is not accurate and is just a dummy for the most part. The 98's did how ever run a 3 pin ECT sensor that did infact rear actual temp on the cluster. You can view actual ECT through a scanner to get the actual engine temp from the ECM.

Yeah have you not heard of the new 150hp termostats...
And the PCM controls the GAUGE. It will show 200degrees but you will be cooler than that.
And the whole subject was keeping the car in open loop and someone else mentioned

You sound like a total jerkoff.
Maybe he's not in the US or an English speaking country, yet buying American and trying to get some help from 'Tech. I'm sure he could type out a fluent response in Arabic, but you'd have an even more difficult time understanding him then, wouldn't you?

His cardomain says Dhahran, Saudi Arabia. Give the guy a break... You seriously need to find someone who knows about LSx tuning. Even if it's a mail order tune, it's better than whoever is tuning your car currently.

There is, but it just screws the op if you don't correct it.

Don't know if it was mentioned yet, but are you running a stock LS1 PCM or aftermarket? Has you tuner ever worked with LS1's before?

True, Considering you corrected your TB problem. Fix your fuel psi issue, 51psi is not enough. Also get it tuned by someone who know's LSx motors.

51psi is enough for a stock motor and stock injectors and it's really not that hard of a fix tune wise to get it close.

Is it 51PSI at idle or WOT though? Possibly not supplying enough volume.
