Thats always the downside to modding a vehicle, your never going to get your money back out of it. But i am planning on slowly turning my driver into an allout race car anyway so I plan on keeping it a while. And who knows I might go through 5 or 6 combos.

Exactly what I am doing now...
I am not sure you can build a FI car for 20k. Imo that would be very hard to accomplish. i.e. engine, axle, trans., all the supporting "stuff"
LOL I started to find that out when i was using the calculator to add up the parts I was taliking about. FI is def. a big investment over N/A or even n2o. Thats why i picked a procharger over a turbo becuase you can have a decent N/A car with headers and all then just switch to bigger cc heads and bolt it on.

I guess its good to see that there are some finacially responsible members, but i know you have some plans for your car too, or else you wouldn't even be on this site.

If I had $20k and had to spend it on my car, I would:

427 or 454 LSX
Twin Turbo
9''
Built T56
200 Shot

I would personally invest in the drug market to live out my life long dream of becoming a drug lord. Even though 20k isn't that much in the drug market everyone has to start somewhere.

Can a warhawk even live with 2 nasty turbos and a 200 shot? I would like someone to try it so i can find out.

It seems like you guys have very similar ideas. It also seems like most peoples dream setup would be turbos. Wheres the guys that want a 500 shot of n2o or a badass procharger F3.

Not to bash anyone elses statements or show disrespect, but let me explain my reasoning behind my selection.

The warhawk block has 6 head bolts per cylinder and is avaible with a taller deck height for larger displacement. It also has billet-steel main caps with APR main studs. They also seem to advertise this block is capable of handling "big boost" (they dont specify how much, but with a price just below 5k, it better handle something). The main reason i chose this block was because of its weight. All the power and tq of a big block without the extra luggage.

And besides, I'm sure if i had that much cash given to me to blow on a car i would at least try it and experiment/research the motors boundaries. it would probably make one sick build thread and shed alot of light on warhawks products.

I dont think anyone was hating on your combo man. Infact I've wanted the warhawk and would get one all day over a LSX if i could afford it. The problem is I can't afford either LOL.

If i had a unlimited budget and any choice of what block to start a build with i would choose 1)dart billet(no comparisons) 2)Warhawk 3)RHS (if it ever comes out) 4)LSX

I wish 40k was a realistic budget for the average guy to build a car with. It would take about 7 to 10 years to put 40k into a car, but hell why not post your 40k plan.

We're all pretty much dreaming anyway.

$20k I can spend on car parts? Easy. IAII 535ci, Tiger heads, 270 solid roller, and update the car to handle the power. If I had more I would go twin turbo. Realistically I would pay off some bills and put it in savings. I would like to put an L92 in my 76 C10 though.

If that was possible for 20k i would. Minus the M6, deff an A3 or a glide at that power and ET times that motor should do...

I was just saying if I had 20k to spend I would do stall/cam/rearend on my Z and use the rest towards a fat downpayment on an AWD TBSS and get rid of my beater.

But if It was all going towards the Z I would try and do a forged 402 or 408 built for boost (7k maybe?), a single turbo setup including fuel system (4k?) a built rearend (3k), built A4 tranny and a new stall (4k), new TA with driveshaft loop, new driveshaft, and 4/4 Konis and new springs (2k+) so that would probably put me a little over 20k, but still wouln't have any drag rims and tires which I would also want. But then again everybodys build ends up over budget doesn't it? Also for got to add in a solid $500 if not more for a good tune. And thats say I do all the work myself too. Man this stuff adds up quick.

i think i say this for everyone but this is what i would do:

500ci earl superdeck 700rwhp on pump 93 with excellent drivability. eat your heart out on that one and a mw fabbed 9 on billet specialties and with the few dollars i have left over ill spend the rest in condoms for all the hunnies that will be on the XXXX!

i would build a H/C 408 with a beefed tranny and rear end. depending on what heads and stuff id say that would be around 12-15k. then i would use that extra few grand left and save.
