Default What would you do with 20K???

I'm interested to see what you guys would do with your LSx cars if you had 20k available right now. I think this is a good question because this isn't outside the possibilities of a regular working guy(or girl) over a 2 or 3 year period. Since it takes that amount of time to do a complete build for most of us what would you guys do if you could do it all now?

It would be cool if you could give a mod list with a price breakdown next to the mod like:

KYTP 88mm race kit - 4500
TSP 408 shortblock - 3900
CNC L92's - 1200
ect....

I want to see what you guys would come up with and how extreme you can build a car with a budget of 20k. I also would like to see a good mixture of all out drag cars, street monsters, and autocross cars, or whatever other kind of motorsports you guys are interested in.

What i would do

Schwanke iron 408 - 3500
L92/L76 combo - 1500
Procharger F1R - 7000
Moser 9" - 2400
Built TH400 w/stall - 1800
Rear suspension - 1000
ARH 1 7/8 headers - 1200
Custom Exhaust - 1000

That leaves about $600 for little odds and ends. I would like to build a car that will go into the 8's. I know I left off/forgot some little stuff, but I think I got most of the bi ticket items.

PS all the prices are guesstimates.

Now what would you do???

If I had it saved for "fun" stuff,

I'd keep my eye out in the classifieds and buy somebody elses completed project who is hard for cash.

Much better value than doing the work yourself.

thats a good idea, but it probably wouldnt be exactly what you wanted. Even though there's a race prepped 25.5 chassis t/a thats almost exactly what i wanted.

keep a good 500-750 for quality tuning. don't forget supporting mods like fuel systems.

What would I do with 20k+?
Exactly what I am doing now...
I am not sure you can build a FI car for 20k. Imo that would be very hard to accomplish. i.e. engine, axle, trans., all the supporting "stuff"

With what is left over from paying off credit cards, invest the rest while the market is down.
