Default Why is my speedo off?!

Well I picked up a T/A couple weeks ago, and the speedo is off about ten mph, my first thought is it must have gears...well it does still have original 2.73s.

Could my cluster be bad, my oil PSI gauge is acting up too.

Could somebody have replaced it with a PCM for a car with 3.23s??

It doesn't still have the original 2.73s...

There is your problem. PCM must not have been reprogrammed for the new gears. Its best just to pull the diff cover and count the teeth for yourself. Dont rely on the previous owner.

I didnt rely on them I checked that. Thats why I said it still has the original gears because I checked. Rotated the tire 1 turn, the pinion turned about 2 3/4 times= 2.73.

Makes more sense now

Does the needle on your speedo jump or is it smooth?

If someone did swap pcm's then your speedo would be off by at least 15 percent. Thats alot. Gonna read further and further off the faster you go, not just 10mph all the time if thats the case.

I would try to find someone with a predator or tuning software so you can see what gears the pcm is set for.

one way to find out is to jump in the western section and see if anyone close to you with hptuners is willing to meet up.
i'd do it but i'm a few hundred miles away from you.
