Default decent kit for headers?

I've heard mixed opinion on Pacesetter's
How do you guys think these will do? : http://www.jegs.com/i/Pace+Setter/766/72C2256K/10002/-1

Also will this bolt up to any catback? any other suggestions for header/ypipe setups?

$704 is a lil too much to be payin for some pacesetters, I wouldnt buy them there.
Pacesetter makes good headers for the price but their Y-pipe is terrible. Thats the reason I didnt go with them, & I couldnt really find a good Y-pipe for them. I bought BBKs last year, ceramic coated, & they come with a very nice ORY. Theyre $500 free shipping, gaskets included as well. IMO, theyre the best budget header set you will find. You will want to buy some o2 sensor extensions, I got mine on ebay fairly cheap.
Heres the link for the headers:http://www.lmperformance.com/19545/1.html

They also sell this same set in chrome for $369 but I would get the coated ones.

I got my Pacesetters from Maryland Speed for $409.90 shipped to my door. Install went very smoothly. No complaints here. If you have the extra $$ get some stainless headers like Kooks, ARH, or QTP.

best bang for buck is either pacesetters or hookers. installed multiple sets with no problems.

ideally i want to spend around 500 bucks for headers/y pipe.. i want something that will really open up the sound, and be good for performance? will the pacesetters do thsi for me? and instead of their ORY, should i go with TSP's?

after that i'll be getting a catback, since this is an offroad Y pipe there are no cats correct? or what, after this where do i go what do i neeD?
and do i need an EGR? idk what it does haha

ORY = not cats, and you dont need the ERG its just emissions. but if you take either or both off you will not pass emissions

less clutter in the engine bay, no tube sticking down blocking smooth flow behind throttle body, less weight, you can mount a cool plaque that says ls1 on it on the front of the head where the pump mounts, no hot air being pumped into your intake

really no major benefits. just looks cleaner. if you're going to be illegal anyway why not, and if you're not required to have it why not just pull it off.

it really all depends on your state. relocating or removing the cats is illegal pretty much everywhere though so technically it's illegal no matter what.

in New Jersey, i went though state inspection last year before any mods and watched them. scanned for codes, checked all lights, that was it. OBDII they only scan for codes here, no sniffer test. I'm installing cats anyway just in case they look under the car, they have no idea where the stock ones are anyway. also, they never popped the hood so they'd never realize the emissions were missing anyway. you could also just try telling them you replaced the engine with an 00 vette engine which came without EGR anyway if they check.
