Thats exactly why i was attracted to the F-Bodys b/c of the clean look of the camaro and the LS1. The interior looks and feels sooooooo cheap and plasticy that it makes it an unpleasent place to be until you step on the gas alittle bit.
Try issueing that same level of "abuse" on a Acura (Honda) NSX, Mitsu 3000 GT TT, Supra, or whatever Japanese sports car. I gaurantee you'll have the same results as you would running a Camaro into the ground. Just because you treat that Passport like **** and it takes it (for now) doesn't make it "special." It makes you lucky. I'm sooooooo sick of people thinking that because they can trash a Japanese car and it still runs that it's magically better than an American car because "they fall apart". If you treat any piece of machinery like ****, eventually you will end up with a big pile of metal scrap.

FYI my wife has a Rodeo (the Passports twin) and while the engine may not have given me any big issues "yet", EVERYTHING ELSE on THE SUV HAS. Plus it is a BITCH to work on. I have a Chevy truck that's the same year, same mileage as the Rodeo and have had no where near the same level of stupid **** go wrong with it as that rebadged Honda.

Regarding the Camaro's interior, not sure how you can claim the Camaro's interior as cheap and plasticy when every Honda of the same year had just has much cheap brittle plastic on the inside.

Here man I'll make it real easy for you to understand why everyone is jumping your ***.

1. You are NOT a Camaro enthusiast (at least not yet anyways)
2. You just bought it because it was fast and cheap and when it dies you'll just haul it off to the scrap yard and blame GM for "building such a cheap POS."

We all are diehard Camaro and Firebird enthusiasts that love these cars for what they are, the last of the original GM muscle cars. They represent raw American power with no compromises, aren't for everybody and we like it that way.

So take all of this into consideration when posting on this site. If you want to learn and join us, that's cool. If you just want to beat on your car till it quits or you kill someone with it, well that's your choice, but please do not bad mouth the car to us as we don't want to hear it.

Ok ok i'll go with what everyone is saying here, you are NOT mechanically inclined at all. You need to go hang out with car guys and figure **** out. 1000 or so bucks for new o2 sensors and replacing bad catalytic converters is just plain freaking stupid, you got played on that one. You could get the cats gutted, O2's in the rear tuned out, and be on the road again for probably 150 bucks max from the right place, and probably have a bit more power. I guarantee if the mechanic who told you that your MAF was reading bad heard you ask "ok what's that?", he'll charge you out the *** because you don't know what he's talking about, and don't know better. That's how a lot of city mechanics operate. Do some research on here and maybe you can diagnose and fix you're own problems one day, and spend the money for parts only. And take it easy cheesing about your car surviving cancer, good lord. Don't be driving like a damn idiot with your girl in the car, and doing 100 in a residential... As stated by other people, if you did that in my neighborhood i'd be stomping a mud-hole in your *** if the cops didn't take care of it first... And I go to k-state so what, don't take that to heart... You guys will whup our *** in football this year again. Do yourself a favor and quit living up to the stereotypes KU is known for...

Just don't be an idiot, be safe. Nobody wants to see someone get hurt, and you can do yourself a favor by doing some research on your own car...

It sounds like you didn't get a good example of a rodeo for your wife. Our passport has 180k+ on it and it runs like a champ and i just did a seafoam treatment on it last weekend and did some wire changing and ect. and feels as good as when we bought it with 70k on it.

And im glad you think you know everything about me very well but i assure you that you are incorrect on both the points you made.

1. Though i am not a mechanical expert about the f-bodys(just yet), i am learning and have more knowledge about them than the average joe. I use the forums and InstallUniversity for alot of the maintenace work in my car which i wouldnt have a year ago b/c i was too scared to mess something up but my enthusiasm and love for my camaro is whats making want to learn and not want other people being under my hood. So thanks for that great point.

2. Who said it was cheap? Cheap is a word only relative to how much you have in your pocket. Whats cheap to you isnt cheap to me. I had choices to buy similar year cobra and an older vr-4 but i liked the LS1 more than the turbo and i liked the look of the camaro more than the mustangs, so my decision was made. And who said my car was going to die? This threat was pretty much about me finding the issue of my car and the ups and downs i had with it and it being perfect now. It is sitting in my drive way right now and is an outstanding example of a stock z28. And I love GM more than just about every other company out there solely b/c of the great engines that i have experienced with them. On the other hand i do blame them for an extemely plasticy interior which makes it a very not so luxorious place to be in. So thank you for another "I know it all" point that you made, that was very appretiate it.

I worked very very very hard to get this car 100% out of my own pocket w/o the a penny help from anybody(im not bragging) and it means the world to me and you blabering about how i just drag it to the scrap yard and blaming GM for it is a big insult so please dont act like a know it all. Thank

Lol im learning that lesson in the hard way about not talking about speeding haha

But yea i do have a radar detector though its not the super duper expensive ones like the v1 and the escort9500. I have kind of a mid range cobra which i got for a 100 back when i worked at bestbuy. Its saved my *** quiet a few times but its still not perfect or reliable as some of the more expensive ones.

I am looking into buying a new one hopefully soon though, thanks for the advise.

Advice not a lecture....you have had enough of that.....

I paid $190 on ebay for my used Escort 8500X50 Blue and it is DAMN close to my brother in laws V1. Some BEL's are good too but these three are the only brands worth having IMO. Research which BELS's are good and anything Escort makes is good but the Solo. The other ones just give you warning that "I am about to get a ticket."

What a punk.

What a ******* whiner.

And for someone who claims not to have any money...

One thing in your budget you can control is tickets.

Slow the **** down, and maybe you could afford to keep your car running.

I did 100 out the neighborhood and I was soooooooooo close to crying i was sooo close to crying b/c its like your child beating cancer. I can not put it into words what it felt like having that feeling back since i hadn't had it since december when i changed the clutch. My gf was SCARED!!!! That is one day that i will NEVER forget

Thanks You

What exactly is the act of "screeming on top of my long"

I love my car, but you really need to grow up.

Your MAF was dirty and you think you can compare that to a child with cancer.

B/c i get speeding tickets i need to grow up? Your assuming im speeding to be cool to impress someone? I enjoy your speculations

And I did not know what was the issue of my car from december to july. For 7 months i my car was not performing at its ability and i was thrilled to have my car back at its tip top shape. Its easy to say "its just a dirty MAF" and not make it sound like a big deal but it was a very big deal to me b/c this car represents alot to me and have worked hard to have it and for it to be not running like it should it brought me lot of pain. The worst part was the fact that i did not know the issue....i didnt know what was wrong so i could look it up and maybe fix it myself. I made two differnt threads trying to describe the issue of my car and how it was reacting but nobody really could come up with a good reasoning.

And yes i did compare a child overcoming cancer with my clean MAF b/c thats how thrilled i was. Your just simply trying to go out of your way to be an *** and its quite clear, so congrats.

Devil. Just do what you do to make you happy... Doing 100 in a 25. Whatever. All them speeding tickets are in the past.

You got that Z back and thats all the ******* matters really. And you drive it like you stole it which is even better. Nothing wrong with enjoying the car, at every redlight. Kill someone? Unlikely?

According to the U.S. Department of Transpotation Statistical Records Office there are approximately 62 million registered vehicles in the U.S. at the current time and appox. 6.4 million unregistered functioning vechicles. Roughly 32% of those two numbers combined would account for Semi-Trucks, construction, heavy machinery vehicles. Stats accurate as of 02/01/05.

There were an estimated 6,420,000 cars involved in accidents in the US in 2005. The cost of these accidents exceeds 230+ Billion dollars. There were about 2.9 million injury cases and 42,636 car accident deaths. An average of 115 persons die each day in motor vehicle crashes in the United States -- one every 13 minutes. According to the World Health Organization about 3000 people die in crashes each day worldwide.

Oh wait, its VERY likely. Slow down there friend, but accelarate like a bat out of hell.

An watch out for the other guy, its the unknown from the drivers around you.

"And den I go dis way" - Most female drivers. = crash.

You've got a whole laundry list of lessons, lifewise and carwise, from this one year- remember them all, because there's a test when you die!

Doubt the average joe would have been dumb enough to drive a car that isn't running right for several months as you did. Nor do I think he would be dumb enough to pay 900 for a clutch, or 1000 for cats/o2's.

Oh, and btw... If you ever have a child with cancer, you will know that its a matter not to be taken lightly... I could only hope you treat your children better than your car (since you want to compare your car to a child with cancer )

Lastly... Learn to ******* type. That is all.
