$60k Budget... What to get?

You can pick up a used '08 LS3 Corvette for less than a new Camaro in some cases. This is a MUCH better base to start with, considering it's the same engine with about 600lbs less fat to haul around. Stock for stock the LS3 C6 will slam the LS3 Camaro.
Use the other $20-25k for mods. You will have a sick C6 at that point, and something much faster than a GT500 or sprayed Mustang GT.

if i had 60k to play with (or flush j/k) i'd talk a dealer into selling me a new camaro SS for 40k then call texas speed and drop a bigger motor in it. life is good with extra doe. my motto is i want to be rich so i can afford the highest quality grief therapy available! just my 2 cents.
