Default What rear end do I have?

The guy said my car had a "custom rear end". I counted 12 bolts, so it's not stock.. I think.

Anyone know what it is?

Yeah I know that lol. How much better is it than a 10 bolt? I was just kinda curious if it was anything special.

its a TON better then a 10 bolt. a 12 bolt will hold up with a six speed and sticky tires several hundred hp more than stock, where a 10 bolt will go bye bye under stock power with a six speed and sticky tires. consider yourself a very lucky man, those rear ends go for around 2 grand.

Yup, just an intake and muffler. It had a roll cage at one point and it smokes a little so I guess it was a pretty serious car at one point and was de-modded. Even though it has the same mods, it pulls a hell of alot harder than an 02 muffler only Z28 I drove with only a few more miles.

But yeah, I think it's a Strange rear end? I looked it up and that's what it looked like, but then I looked up a Moser 12 bolt and it looked the exact same as a Strange.

I guess I didn't do so bad after all lol. My $9500 +TTL T/A just turned into a $7200 car since this would have been a mod waaaayyy down the road.

Haha first thing I think when I read this title. "A shitty one" I thought you were going to ask what 10 bolt you have. That is a great find. Very nice!!

Lol thanks! I am pretty damn excited now! I didn't want to ever take the car to the track with a ten bolt so today is a good day. Still not sure if it's a Strange or Moser though.

I was messing around under the car and was like "damn, that's a pretty mean looking rear end."

Prolly not going to be able to tell the brand without cracking it open as both rears are modeled after a gm 12 bolt. Btw was the 02 z28 an auto? An m6 will often feel faster than an auto due to the shift shock and more involed driving experience of the m6.

It was an M6. It was fast but it just wasn't like "Wow" fast, my old T/A felt faster.

And no I never did anything with the skip shift, it hasn't ever affected my driving so I never got rid of it.

By the mods done to the car already its probably taken out. My buddy had an m6 and it sucked driving in the city going from 1st to 4th all the time

Hahaha, glad you figured it out, I was gonna suggest taking off a center cap if your wheels have them or the whole wheel and check the axle end. They put their logos on there. It would have been the easiest way to tell otherwise.
