Default Lookin' for some advice...

I'm considering a LS series engine for a daily driver. It's my first endevor into the full computer controlled cars. Some have suggested a 5.3 because I don't really need 400 ponies to feed but I do need the torque. The car weighs anout 4000lbs. right now and will gain about 200 more in the near future (with the iron motor, I don't know how much weight savings the 5.3 will give me).
So where do I go from planning to gettin' and doin' ?
The car will be a daily driver and will see some cruise-ins. A/c, power everything, don't which tranny to go with either.
Any help would be welcomed !
Thanks in advance,
Bruce

Buy a full pull out drivetrain. Motor, trans, wiring, computer, etc.

find an lq4/lq9 out of a truck

they make great torque and are the same dimension as the 5.3.

something as simple as some basic head porting will make even more power and sacrifice NO driveability

Depending on where you are located, i would check into Cleveland Pull-A-Part(or maybe Pick-A-Part)...either way, i think they used to be a sponsor on here. Not sure if they still are, but they have tons of LS series engine and transmissions combos for really good prices.

Can we know what your building? The LQ4/9's are pretty good motors for what it sounds like you want.

I would do the lq9 just as cheap as the 5.3 around here
