Hey fellas, I have a quick question about Insurance on a c5 coupe or a z06.
I got some online quotes from Geico and it came up to $426 for the 6 month premium,04 z06.
I am 23 and been driving since i was 18, wasn't on a policy until I was 20. No tickets/accidents or any of that.
I drove my 3.8l for more than 2 years and now I am financially ready to move onto v8.
I wanted to know the real insurance prices guys in their 20s are getting for corvettes.

wow there is no way that is for full coverage for six months. If it is then im calling geico asap lol. I have a spotless record and for my 02 Z28 its $1,300 for six months with geico and i have been with them for 8 years, shortly after i bought a beater Jeep cherokee for a dd it droped to $729 for 6months because of the multi car discount.

Yeah but at those prices what kind of insurance companies are we talking about? Is it Yo-amigo insurance or something? I would only go with State Farm, AAA or one of the big boys, because when and if the time comes you're going to need the right type of company to back you up and get you on the road fast.
I used to pay $280 a month for full coverage on 4 cars with AAA, and as high as that was I say it was worth it...

@OP: That's cheap. I paid about that (a bit less) for my 99 Camaro with everything but full collision on it. Though I have a higher rated insurance company (Liberty Mutual) and I pay extra so that I can have one moving violation and one accident per year without my insurance rates going up.

Typically it is better if you are well established with your current carrier. If you have a good driving record and have been with a company for quite some time, they will normally give you the best rates. If you will have more than one car under your name, a carrier will sometimes give you even better rates as they only have to rate for your age on one car.

I dont have my c5 anymore but i'll tell you what I got and a bit of my driving history. I live in the state of Michigan and have always had State Farm insurance since I started driving in 1997.
In 2000 accumulated 19 points in 6 months when I got my LT1 Trans AM, License suspended for 6 months....
2003 got a 99 C5 FRC Paid $110.00 a month then dropped from there till I sold it in 2007. This was my 2nd car so there was a multi car discount it was listed at under 5000 miles per year, storage insurance went to $12.00 during winter.
(agent listed me at 25 years old when I was 22)
The insurance rates were what convinced me to buy a C5 over a blown Mustang Cobra which would have cost $195 per month at the time.

I pay $900/yr full coverage w/ 100/300 & all the other bells & whistles (Allstate). Started that policy when I was 23. It actually went down like $200/yr when I switched to the C5 from the Camaro.
I really can't complain about Allstate. They also insure my 1000rr for like $125/yr but that just liability.

Thanks for all the input guys. I was debating between putting a 408 and built suspension or a c5z.
I got an exact quote of $450/6 months premium for liability only as opposed to 850 I am paying for the camaro. v6 camaro?!?!
So I am putting the funds towards a c5z instead of a 408 in the camaro.
