Save your money over those and get a Bosch or Wix filter.

Yeah, I remember hearing that the SuperTech was the same a bulk Mobil oil.

We also do that with our transmission fluid to too, but its all of the left over tranny fluids not brown oil. Now im not sure if any other company's do this like RP or Mobil 1.
So basically you guys make all the generic oils?? It would make sense that Supertech/Advance/Autozone/ect are all the same crap, as opposed to them being rebadged brand name oil. Is there a reason that your company is never listed on the bottle as the manufacturer though?? I guess they don't want consumers to know who makes it??

just because somthing is made by the same people that make another brand, never means it's the same. not arguing about the oil filters, i just use a wix or ac delco.

Actually it was a wix that the RP filter was compared too and all the same test were done to both.

yea i wasn't arguing that. just making the point that the same company can make a few different brands or be owned by the same people but be totally different.

for what it's worth, this is the way i see it with all oil/filters. ya got cheapo brands like autozone brand, valuecraft, quaker state, etc. that i wouldn't buy. then ya got midrange-high end, like ac-delco, wix, mobil 1, castrol, valvaline, etc. that do have their differences, but your generally splitting hairs. personally, i use castrol oil and a wix filter. that said, i would bet that if i had a beater honda i could use valuecraft oil/filter, change it every 3k, and never notice a problem caused by cheap oil or filter.

I use a damn AC Delco on everything including the 565" BBC at 850 HP at 7000+ RPM repeatedly and works just fine at 60+ psi of oil pressure.

Knock on wood

Cardboard used in them. Also poor filter area.

AC Delco and STP are also junk. The only well-priced one at Autozone that doesn't suck is Bosch.

i work for an auto parts store and i know that our house brand oil is actually coastal oil company (same people who make Ford motorcraft and Castrol oil) its the same stuff thats in the name brand bottle and is almost 70% cheaper.

Just get a Wix and call it a day.
Only good thing about Frams is that nice grip on the end of them. And I doubt anything about these new RP filters makes them worth what they are charging. As far as filters you get at Wal-Mart, hard to beat Motorcraft.
