True duals?
I'm wanting to change up my setup. Current is a magnaflow into the CME now i want to go to a custom chambered true dual into the CME. Now being that my car is lowered i figure i will have to got 2.5" from the x-pipe back will that hurt my power any. My future plans for the car are full bolt-ons, Cam and maybe 150 wet shot, and subframe connectors and upper and lower a-arms and rear control arms, etc. The wifes car is 3" until the borla catback which is 2.5" including the x-pipe and it dosent seem to be hurting her car any!

2.5"x 2= 5" total flow so that would be better than a single 3". just wanting to know if it will hurt my ability to make more power when i get to the future mods or if it will be sufficient enough for what i want to do

yeah considering guys get some really good power through a Ypipe, i would say 2.5" duals would support just about anything a mildly built small block can put out. I would think you wouldnt need to go any larger until you got into bigger cubes.

Bassani makes a true dual set up which sounds very good, if I wasnt at work I would link my youtube video on here. If you want go to youtube and search up usarmyz28 and my bassani demonstration video is on there. I dont think you will be disappointed.

i'm lowered and my TDs are decently tucked up.
running a full size muffler (magnaflow 4x9) and they are the lowest part. right around 2.5" of clearance.
a smaller muffler allows more clearance. i'm considering using chambered mufflers that are only 3.5" thick...will gain me another 1/2"...possibly more if i can route them differently.
taken this weekend when i tweaked it for better clearance:
car sitting on the ground....BMR lowering springs

Thats not how that works...
By your theory dual 1.75" will out flow a single 3" ...
I mean 1.75 x 2 = 3.5...
Its more complicated that, your looking at volume, or diameter, no a liner dimension...
dual 2.5 may flow more... i just wanted to set the record straight, so people arent so confused... but maybe im just confusing ya more...

Uhh no you wont, Im lowered on Vogtland springs and SLP Bilstein shocks, I have two glass packs dumped right before the rear axle and I have 0 clearance issues. The speed bumps to get on post are VERY big too, no problems clearing. Just dont be an idiot and speed over road bumps and drive your car at an angle up and down inclines.

yeah the mufflers are the worst part...they are basically full size (not bullets). and being 4" thick they are the lowest part.
if i ran bullets i could run it down the trans tunnel more and tuck it up better, but i'd probably only gain 1/2" or so...since then the pipes will be the low part. i guess the same routing with 2.5" would gain me another 1/2"....ugh endless cycle.
i'm considering swapping the magnaflow 4x9s with some chambered mufflers that have a case diameter of 3.5"...so i'll gain that 1/2". but other things are on the $$ list first.
as for rust:
headers have been on the car since 2004
pipes have been on since 2005....and were completely submerged in ocean water when my island flooded in hurricane Wilma
mufflers have been on since early 06
