At first I didn't want to get rid of it. When the insurance totaled it out because of "storm damage", i bought it back, put a new motor in it and still drove it. Once we found out were expecting a little one, I wanted to get rid of it for a more family friendly vehicle like a crew cab chevrolet or a TBSS, but my wife talked me into not getting rid of it because she knew I'd be miserable. Now it's just parked and it sits in the garage until I can continue modding on it one day. I drive it every now and then, but as of now, I don't think I could get rid of it

I like my SS and have no plans to sell it but if someone offers enough cash, it's gone.

Hell to the no, I remember when I was like 11 years old and a huge Camaro fan. But when my moms lease was up she took me to go look at the brand new 1998 black Trans Am WS6 on the show room floor. From that day on I wanted a black WS6 my entire life, on march 6th 2008 I bought my black WS6 while serving over seas in afghanistan. I pretty much went to war to get my car, I wouldnt sell it for the world.
To hold up to the Camaro loyalty I sold it in a heart beat to get my WS6 lol.

Most cars are disposeable. Once they get old, nobody wants them because they look dated and have been replaced by a new model. And if you sell your car, you can just buy the new version of it or something similar.
Not so with F-bodies, particularly the Firebirds.
The 98-02 cars are unique in that they were the end of an era. They are relatively simple to work on, no extra crap (onstar, side airbags, nav, heated seats, backup cameras, ect) and just about every part can be upgraded while improving driveability, reliability, and performance.
I look under a lot of these newer cars and I see so many things that make me wonder. Why do all new cars (new Mustang and Camaro included) use Macpherson struts up front?? The 4th gens used Strut SLA, which is one of the best designs in existance for durability and especially performance.
A lot of people ask what year my car is and they are surprised when I say its a 98. I think the 4th gen Firebirds had a timeless design, it still looks badass even to this day, despite all the new cars that have come out in the past 12 years. And for that reason I keep my car, there is no replacement for it, and I think the depreciation is at a point where it has pretty much leveled out.

I have owned 4 Camaro's now, 2 Z28's 1 Berlinetta and one V6. When I was a kid My dad owned a White with Blue Chicken Turbo Trans Am that was later upgraded with a 400BB and then a 400SBC. I would still have all 4 of my Camaro's had my dad not been a douche and given away 2 of them "left them on his property so he felt he owned them"..... I wouldn't sell or trade my Camaro's I have now though, but I would LOVE to have me a C6 Z06 or ZR1..... GM Power all the way!!

I completely agree. This is a huge factor for me personally. The F-body is a perfect blend of basic modern technology (like fuel injection, OD & lock-up trans, ABS, decent radio) without all the electronic add-ons of most modern cars. I'm not a gaget person at all.

You think that's bad, I'm so anti-gaget I don't even have a cell phone (true story).
Stock radio is fine (other than a couple of the little lights for the buttons going out), I did have to replace a blown passenger door speaker at around 85k miles. Otherwise it's stock and doing great.

My car is definately not priceless to me. If I sold it, and decided I missed it, I would just go buy another one. The reason I own a Camaro is because of cheap, reliable performance. I can think of a few cars I would much rather have, but for me, my Camaro is a cheap way to stay in the hobby.
I had a car that was priceless to me, but unfortunately it was totalled out. My current car does not even come close to meaning what that car ment to me.
