What Is Your Least Favorite Mod?

SLP bilstein/ Eibach pkg. Six years later and very few miles, the rear springs have sagged (not too much, but still noticable) and the shocks seem a little soft now, although at the time, they seemed (and were/are) much better than factory! I paid top $ at the time, which would almost cover the cost of the better Strano-Koni combo! Ah well, live and learn.

I'm another that wishes I would have went with a milder exhaust setup the first time around. But like others have said it was fine for a few years running LT's, ORY, and LM1, but now that I'm a little more grown up and have a family I wish it had less rasp and drone. We'll see how things sound once I get my converter in and I have to get the car up to 2500ish to leave with traffic, sure it'll sound even louder to me then.

i wouldnt say it was a bad mod. but i regret building my own td system. after about 6 months i went to catted y/cutout/magnaflow and i absolutely LOVE it compared to the td system i had.

The DS Predator too. The thing is I knew better. I bought one for my 99 Cobra, and it was crap. Although technically speaking it has helped me a little, since I needed to delete codes that popped(still do, not a permaneant fix) and fix my speedo due to the Moser 9" mod.

Coolant Bypass
I hated the coolant bypass on my 2000 SS. This winter when it got super f-ing cold out in oklahoma, I had serious idle issues after car warmed up and went into closed loop. After I blew out the throttle body coolant lines and ran lines back to coolant tubes, voila problem solved. IMO the 3-6 hp from this "free mod" isn't worth the cold weather bs.

flowmaster super 40's. give me a freaking break. Have sweet thunder's now and love them.
the only thing i've learned from reading 4 pages of this thread is.
-don't buy poly motor/trans mounts
-don't buy sfc's
-don't buy a fast intake
-don't buy a 12 bolt or 9 inch.
-don't buy a loud exhaust sytem or a quiet one or a medium one just omit exhaust from mod list.
screw it i'm selling my car and buying a civic- all the mods I wanted to do are garbage.

yea just wait until u blow ur 10 bolt like 6 times, theres nothing wrong with those rearends, just gotta be prepared to get the parts required to fit it properly. i know dozens of ppl who have had those rearends for yrs without problems. at the same time though it is just the nature of the aftermarket to not always fit right, thats the trick, finding out which companies fit the best, last the longest, give the greatest performance gains, best gas mileage, etc..., it is a never ending quest, but those companies are out there, one just has to take time and do the research, and not get his jollys off everytime he sees someone else with a shiny new toy on their car lol.

QTP headers, one is pointing up at the floor board and the other hits the body. Not to mention their y-pipe would even come close to working. I should have gone with kooks.

I also have a FAST 92/PTM 92 TB and Love the setup. It's just a little pricey for the intake and TB.
I would not own an F-Body without SFC's. The car felt stiffer with them, but hey they do their job.
IMO, To consider your car a FULLY Built car, you'll need a new rearend.
Although quite expensive, You just have to face the facts. A stock 10 bolt will not hold up to a high hp car, and to be safe you should invest the $ in a 12 bolt or 9 Inch.
Exhaust- Loud for a race car, Medium for a street/strip car, and Quiet for a DD.... IMO
As I'm sure you already know all of what I just said, I just wanted to state my oppinion. It costs to go fast and it's something I have learned to deal with.
If you are going to race, be prepared to spend the cash. hahaha
As for the worst mod ever, My 1st was buying an F-Body. And then the 2nd was the empty wallet mod.

Probably my Flowmaster exhaust. That was the only mod done to my car when I bought it, but the one I planned on changing before any other mod. Now 4 years later I'm still cruising with the same ol' Flowmaster. It really sounds like **** now that my car is stalled.
