wouldnt it be easier to replace the engine rather than the whole airplane?

It is..he's just being sarcastic about the whole Fire Dept always damaging things..word has it we tear everything up..

well, the car i bought that caught fire, the fire was in the interior, so the FDPT decided to bust the back glass and let the fire out that way, even tho the windshield, both side windows and the t-tops were already busted...

I have worked with Merv and have also had a LS car burn to the ground. I bought the engine back and the block and crank are now in my TA running it's *** off.

The machine shop that does my work said that if the heads get hot enough in the fire, the next time that engine heats up, the valve seats can fall out. Don't really know how much truth there is behind that, but I take his word for it.

I have a set of burnt 243 LS6 heads, that im debating on using that were in an engine fire. Just not completly sure that the seats wont fall out. decisions, decisions

I would pull the pan to check for any debri. If there's any baked oil in there, it'll give you and indication of how hot or not the fire was.
