Default Why only driver side?

Saturday I went to the track and made three passes. I did a "mild" burnout each time on BFG drag radials. I took my car home and noticed that I only had rubber on my driver side rear fender and fender/well. My car is in sig and I'm sure both tires were spinning during the burnouts so why no rubber on the passenger side. Thanks guys. Is my rear broke??

How can you be sure if there's no rubber on one side? Was someone else watching or taking a vid?

Do you have any noises coming from your rear? Go do the old posi test on a back road and see how those results turn out.

I had the same thing the other day. Just depends if that tire throws rubber or not I guess, I also made three passes, both tires were spinning but I do have an issue with being a 1 legger occassionally...

I don't hear or see anything wrong with my rear end. If I do have a broken posi what do I do to fix it and what could possibly have broke it. I remember several months ago I got sideways pulling out of somewhere and I know that both tires smoked but I only left 1 strip of rubber on the road and it was the driver side.

Posi units dont "break", the clutches in them just wear out and thats where you get one wheel peels from.

How to fix - buy a new posi unit, lol.

Usually if it actually "breaks", the car wont move lol.

I am the OP's brother and I witnessed the above and both tires were smoking and spinning. But the driver side fender had a "good" amount of rubber on it. And the passenger side was CLEAN. What is the "old posi test" I'm a little confused on that one

I'm guessing the old posi test is go to a back road and lay some nice black strips.

Wrong. He has an 02. It's a torsen unit, similar to a eaton unit. It's all gears, theres no clutches at all. Look it up.

if it doesn't leave two black marks, try changing your rear end diff fluid and putting the posi additive in there as well.

mine was one legging it till i changed the fluid, nows shes back.

You might be on to something because when I had the gear swap professionally done I am not 100% sure that the person added the gm additive to it. I want switch the diff fluid to synthetic anyways.

If the car in question is the 02 in your sig, like mentioned above your car has a Torsen Posi which is gear driven so you dont need the additive because there are no clutches the additive is designed for posi's with clutches.

Torsens don't need the additive.

I killed my Auburn at the track.. had one wheel peel..then a shudder out of the Burnout Box on the next pass..then off the line I went..

Then it went on the trailer and I commenced to
