There is a guy locally who is selling a Supercharged Z28 with original 29K miles on it. Just in case you or anyone else is interested.

http://albuquerque.craigslist.org/cto/1610590276.html

YEP you by the car and the supercharger is free, i have a super super fast car for sale here. i gotta sell it since buying a house seems more important right now. there isnt any other way id let this beauty go.the car has had only 2owners.it has always had synthetic fluids. a little about this beast.
the cars name is Lila, its a 95' z28. IT HAS THE FOLLOWING:
-29k ORGINAL MILES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
-Vortec V-1 supercharger
-Vortec fuel managment system
-bbk or holly fuel pump(not sure)
-K&N cold airintake
-Richmond 3:73 rear gears(in royal purple)
-flowmater 80s series muffler
-Tunned by Yearwood performace
(gov removed, tunned for the 3:73gears,shift points etc)
-2pillar gauges: innovate motorsports air to fuel ratio, boost gauge.
-built transmission with racing clutch packs
-corvette 17in rims
-BF goodrich Zrated tires with less then 500miles on the back and less then 2500miles on the back.
-rear main seal replaced(along with all the tranny seals and gaskets)
-Chameleon paint job
-super clean interior
-colored gauges(white during the day, blue at night)
-dark tint
-just passes emissions for 2years
-fresh oil change

the bad
-salvage title, from a slight fender bender(previous owner) NO FRAME DAMAGE (repaired at galles)
-back bumber Left hand corner has a spot where the paint is kinda cracking
-front right hand bumber has some paint peeling and front right fender has a slight scrape.

im asking $8500 for this car. WILL TRADE FOR GOLD AND SILVER COINS (same value). id like to sell it, NO joy riders!!!! unless you are completly serious about buying this car you will not drive it. this car is probably at about 500horses to the crank and 450 to the wheels. im fairly set on my price. call or email. I agree with everyone else, keep your LS1. Sure that LT1 probably makes more power now, but you can easily make those numbers with your car for way less money.

1) You shouldn't make excuses for someone elses' car that you're looking to purchase. You're only conning yourself into believing everything is on the "up and up" with said vehicle.

2) Albeit the fact that he may "promise" to fix the transmission if you encounter the problem post-tune, which is down the road from now, this is not how the real world works. If you did start experiencing such a problem, his likely reaction would be to ignore your phone calls until you stop trying to contact him.

3) There are way too many little things wrong with that vehicle, in my opinion, to consider a purchase. That said, you may not feel the same way. Your Camaro seems to be in great physical shape based on your sig picture, do you really want to get involved in a older car in need of a paint job and twenty other small repairs?

4) Keep the LS1

I LOL'd at that..no way I would pay that with a Salvage title. A vehicle with a Salvage title is a bitch to deal with.

Keep the LS.

nope

I would only own a lt1 engined vehicle if it was given to me unless is has the new high dollar ls1 coil setup and no optifail

but a lt1 bodied f body? to me they're too sharp and dated looking and I wouldn't want one anyway...even if it ran 10s

plus it looks like someone is selling their headache

I would walk away. Sounds like the trannys is letting go. Also going from a LS1 to a LT1 is a definite down grade even with the LT1 being supercharged.

I have a friend with a fully built 95 camaro with a 550hp 383 stroker supercharged with full suspension and everything. He's put over 14k in mods alone and hes still only running a 12.4 in the quarter. Its sad that my bolt-on only camaro walks him on the street and the strip.

I think i'm trading my car for 95 Trans Am with 93,000 miles and its been rebuilt with a small cam, 420/422. mid length headers, etc. It also has a Vortech supercharger that has been recently rebuilt with 65k bearings and a smaller pulley so its pulling about 9lbs of boost. The car has a small 1800 converter but the the guy i'm getting it from is giving me a 3000 converter and 410s with car.
Keep in my mind that my LS1 car has 195,000 miles and runs high 12s. This guy is also a member of LS1tech, and hes seems to be pretty straight up honest about everything. The TA needs an alternater and a tune.

What would you do?
Hell no. LS1>lt1 anyday.

Tell your friend to learn how to drive.. Or get it setup right! And I call BS on you "walking" him, especially from a roll if he's making that much power.

If the car was solid and checks out, I'd do it.
