Sell It! You said you have only had the car for a few months so you can't be attached as most of us ( Yet ). If he can do cashiers check than he can do cash. Thats what a cashiers check is. Ask for cash at the bank. Fill out the paper work at the bank! I work at a bank and they will definately let you borrow a table to do it. This is probably the safest way to avoid a scam if it is. Good luck bud.
* on a side note .. if a guy pulled up and offered me 10k ... geez ... heck no am I not going to start over crawling under and around to do everything all over again .. haha Love is crazy I tell ya

Does he want a same mileage SS? I'll be there in two weeks, he can have mine at ANY Wells Fargo in the area after they confirm the cash is true and it is in my account! Bought mine of the showroom floor Nov, 9 2000 with about 60 mile, I am the original owner, attachment is only half of what is important in some cases...

I feel very negative about this and a big NO to a cashier's check unless done at your bank where it can be verified by bank personnel. Do NOT meet this person anywhere else and be careful. If he stops by your house again uninvited be very wary.

It's just a fourth generation. It's not like we're talking about a low mileage first generation car. If someone offers you twice what's it worth, it would be pretty stupid not to sell it, IMO. As everone else has already said, he's probably full of ****.
Edit: Cash/check and do the transaction at your bank.

I can definitely see this as a legit deal! My hardtop Formula burned several months ago and I keep my eyes peeled for another silver hardtop Formula everywhere I go. I also keep an "emergency fund" in case I find said car. I guarantee if I find a silver Formula hardtop in someone's driveway I'll be at their door with my bank on the phone ready for a wire transfer.

No, actually he was late 40's early 50's. Showed up in a small lifted toyota truck with his wife. she stayed in the truck though.
This guy was talking like he really wanted it. I'm gonna call him up. Since I don't need to sell the the car, not a penny under what he offered.
If hes bullshitting then he's bullshitting and I keep my car. If he's legit and he really wants it then I'm gonna have about 12-14k to spend on a new ride.
Its a win-win.
