I got an offer for my car. Unbelievable.
This guy just pulled up to my girlfriends driveway and asked if I wanted to sell the trans am. I said no, not for sale. He says, I'll tell you what, I'll give you $10,000 for it right now. Holy crap, 10k.
I tell him its got a **** load of miles 145k to be close and he says its ok, if hes got to put a motor in it, its all good.
He keeps telling me how his sister took his without his permission and wrecked it and he's been looking for one exactly like mine for a long time.
This is 10,000 dollars guys. This car is worth about half that on a good day.
Mods are full suspension, smog cam, ls6 intake, PP 241 heads, ls2 clutch, and other miscellaneous things...
I got his contact info and everything...
What would you guys do? Ive only had the car for a few months...

Money Orders are no better than a check. Buddy of mine got one, turns out the issuing currency exchange took a check from the guy to issue it (they are supposed to only take cash, but they did it anyway as he was friends with the clerk). When his check turned up bad, they refused payment on the money order. The law (in Illinois anyway) is that they do not have to make good on a MO if it was fraudulently obtained (like writing a bad check for one). My buddy went after the CE, but found that they were protected and had to sue the guy who wrote the bad check. (again, that is why they required a MO from him in the first place as they got tired of suing him for payment.)

WOAH. thats weird and Screams scam to me.
How the hell???
I would be VERY cautious about this, that is very strange dude. Only accept cash, on your property/terms/bank -- PERIOD.
But ya.. if someone offered me even 2-3k more than my car is worth/ what I have into it (say I got a 15k offer), i'd sell no doubt.

Any logical reason why I shouldn't go for this deal? Other than the obvious scam factor?
Im only gonna take cash at my bank.

How fast can you demod it? It's only really worth it if you aren't planning to just turn around and build the same thing all over again (although you could come out with slightly less mileage I guess).
