what I'm saying is even if you have the reciepts you still won't get the full value back for what you paid. maybe a few hundred bucks extra.
Say I have a '00 Z28 with 200k miles on it & the KBB is around $3k. The car is modded to hell & I have all the receipts totalling over $15k. I get t-boned & the car is totalled. You really think I'm gonna get $15-18k for a 10 yr old Z28 with 200k miles just because I have reciepts for aftermarket parts?

Well, Here's an update...
They offered me $9100 for the car, minus $2200 if I want to buy it back.
After sending in about $6000 worth of reciepts they upped the value $200, which aggravated me really, but it's whats to be expected i guess.
At this point, I'm debating buying the car back or not. I'm pretty sure I can make more than $2200 if I part it out, I just don't think I wanna spend the time and effort for something I'm not sure if I'm going to make any real money off of.
Especially considering I don't know where to start parting out a car.
But I didn't land a job over the summer, so I figure why not?
Anyway that's where it stands now. I can get $9300 all said and done, and be stuck in the midde of nowhere, Penn State, until I buy a car. Or I could buy the car back and part it out...

Do yourself a favor and get that car out of the impound and put it somewhere safe. Yuor gonna have to fight to get the value of your car not the book value. Then if you want you can get pain management and sue her insurance company for all that legal pain and suffering crap
the impound lot will charge you DAILY for every day it's been there, it must not be in that lot, get it out as soon as you can, seriously, I've been fucked by those bastards twice, the laws on their side (I think they go to bars with city council and judges or something, they're corrupt bastards that probably stole good stuff out of your car already)

Yea, on N Atherton, between the edge of campus and Giant.
This chick was flying, thats for sure, and not looking at the road.
I really have no idea what my plans are for when I'll be around.
I don't know when artsfest is either. But, there's a good chance I'll be up here that weekend, especially if I decide to part out the car.
