go get a flowmaster, lol

youll have to make a decision on wether you want a good flowing exhaust or a quiet one...

Umm, you could start by putting high flow cats on. if you're worried about performance you could put a cutout before them.

another popular thing to do is to put a quieter muffler on. but who would want that?

Even with the stock catback my firebird is kind of loud. Quiet at idle and cruising, but really wakes up whenever you get on it. I plan on sticking a cut-out in the I pipe for the track, but I honestly have no desire for a louder catback. The LT's and ORY made it loud enough.

As suggested above, you could toss a catted y-pipe in there to mate with the headers -- that would get you a decent reduction on the volume.

Plan B would include simply driving it and getting used to the sound. You won't find many around with those mods that don't sound like a freight train coming down the road!

Some even suggest using bullet mufflers instead of cats if you don't want to run cats. Otherwise, high flow cats are your best bet IMO

Another possibility is to get an SLP dual/dual catback. They are regarded as about the quietest catback and still flows well.

Yeah running a bullet in your I pipe is much cheaper than cats.....

How about Magnaflow catback? They seem quiet to me, maybe because I drive with open cutout.

I have this setup with the magnaflow. It sounds like a stock ls1 with a small cam.

How do you do at the track? I broke my tranny right after i got my motor put together. So i havent had a chance to run it yet.

Bing! Light bulb just clicked. Thanks guys. I've been contemplating what to do with my exhaust and what to get etc. Kept thinking of changing out the dual dual SLP set up that have, then maybe down the road doing LT's. Now you got me thinking of doing the opposite. Maybe some Pacesetter LT's and an ORY mated to my stock dual dual SLP.
Thanks

Perfect because after seeing the TSP ORY with Hi flow cats and some Pacesetter LT I think I may go this route and see how it sounds with my stock SLP dual dual. Is my dual dual the LM1 or LM2 or totally different?
Thanks

true. IIRC SLP used to make an actual dual dual exhaust, but its been years since they were around.
