So you drive between 4-6000 miles a month? 48k-72k miles a year? That must be horrible on miles and maintaince cost.

Sorry. I just don't believe you. Unless you drive around for a company and they pay for some/most/all.

I wanted to edit that but couldn't. Ment to say something more like.

Sorry that must suck, you must work for a company that pays for some/most/all of that though on a company car?! Cause on a LS1 f-body. That would become expensive quick!!

But to you sir if you do drive that much. Thats rough.

I've done as much as 30k miles in one year's time, when I had an 80 mile daily commute + weekend driving. People that drive for a living can easily double that.

No, I'm a welder. Not fortunate enough to have my company pay for my commute.

10 Miles To School and 115 To Work: One Way.

125 x 2 = 250 miles per day.

250 x 5 = 1,250 Miles per week.

If I work on Saturday then that's another 230 miles, unless I sleep at a hotel. Then there's the little running around I do on Sat/Sun.

I understand if you don't believe me, because sometimes, I have a hard time believing it myself. I usually find myself filling up at the pump every day thinking "This is Not Fair", or sleep-drifting off the road at 3am during my 2hr commute after working 12's, and yet I still hear people complain about gas prices.

I work 12 hr shifts to offsett the cost of my commute. It's not fair that I have to work harder than everyone else just to take home what they do, but I suited up and started doing it anyway. I got tired of being broke.

At the present time the financial markets and the barrell of oil have gone down. This is due to the uncertainty being caused by the Greek debt crises, and fear that the crises may spread to Spain and Portugal.

Japans Nikei index went down yesterday, a crises like this effects everyone.

If things get worse, you may see demand destruction thus lowering the price of Oil.

If things do eventually recover globally, than it's a given that Oil prices will rise again. Be it real supply and demand or extreme market manipulation as we saw in 2008.

If they do reach and stay at $5 then I'll be looking for a cheap DD. If my car somehow managed these mythical mpg's that I read about on here then I wouldn't have to worry. I only average 19mpg city/hwy combined and that is not driving it hard at all. Yes I have gotten high 20's on road trips, but that is far from the norm.

I already do not drive my z, it just sits and looks pretty. I carpool to work in my 93 Corolla. When ever I need to go far I drive my work truck or anywhere else I only drive the Corolla.

This economy is the *****.

Sell one of each:kidney, eye. LOL

Seriously though, I live in an area where most of my things are within in walking distance.

It also helps to plan out chores on a Saturday, for example if you make a drive and get everything done once. You don't have to keep making trips for each individual task.

I doubt it will affect me anymore then how im doing now. I work 12hr shifts, 6am to 6pm and only driving i do on those days is from work and back, maybe out to get some food and back home. Days im off, i still dont really go out. May or may not take the wife to work, will pick her up from work though but still not very much driving and its not a big town. So im not stuck in traffic or anything....it'll hurt when i fill the tank up and see the price but ill more then likely try to keep it above half a tank. Unless i go out of town.

My car is still untuned, so im not getting what i should be getting in terms of gas mileage. Im used to doing it this way though, since its been untuned for months and i keep from always hauling *** around town. So it really shouldnt affect me as much as maybe some of you guys.

When i first got my car, i was living in florida, and I would drive home to michigan, down to miami..., everywhere.

I put 18,000miles on in ~3months. I love driving my car!

I spend $623 a year now for 93 octane being not a DD, so at $5 a gallon it would be $1055 or $432 more per year.
