Default 2005 Chevy Silverado no power.... Help me upgrade!

Situation:
I have a 2005 Chevy Silverado Z71 5.3 that recently gained a 7K lb car hauler. I drove from CA to AZ, and had a rough time. I was pulling about 2,500rpms doing 60mph. The hills were a nightmare!

In AZ I test drove a duramax but reality set in. I cannot afford a car payment, so was thinkin of upgrading the motor. I cannot decide on what to do though.....

Forced induction? Turbo? S/C? Bigger motor?

I expect to tow at least once every other month about 1K miles, and of course localy. I dont care about gas milage, but what would be my best option?

Help me decide what to get into!

What about trading up for the 6.0. I love my truck.

Oh, guess I should of mentioned... Wife says "do what you gotta do to the motor, but we aint gettin rid of the truck"

The truck is dark grey crew cab. Its got everything you can imagine including a sun roof. I got the thing outa the show room in 05 when I got back from Iraq, and its finally paid for. Bottom line, cant get rid of the truck, but got the green light to upgrade the motor.

If your gonna be towing that much that often your gonna need to upgrade more than the motor, fortunately the 5.3 can be made to do pretty much whatever you want but the 4L60E isn't gonna like much of that kind of abuse and the rear end won't either

You can get more truck specific info here http://www.performancetrucks.net/forums/

But any of the general motor related things are going to be the same as you'll find on here. One thing I'd do if you don't have one already is add a nice big tranny cooler since you will be doing more towing.

Will a 4L80 be worth the swap?

you'd probably notice the most out of re-gearing the rear. but then you'd sacrifice miliage on those long highway trips.
