Default Help on lq9

Well heres the deal, a local guy had a 2006 lq9 with 20k on it he was wanting to get rid of. i went and looked at it and it had dropped a valve and killed one cylinder head, piston, and cylinder. Also this engine is pretty much a longblock (block, rotating assembly, cylinder heads, front cover and oil pan)

So i grabbed the damaged cylinder head and took it to the machine shop to see what they could do, they got me in another cylinder head for a little bit of nothing and kept the bad one as a core.

So i go to negotiate price on the engine and he hits me at $1200. Am I blind or is this extremely high?

If anyone has any suggestions on how to prove the value of this engine please let me know. I just dont want to be out cylinder head i just had built!
