I don't think there is any way to obtain that type of info for a Z28. Just SS/Firehawk/WS6.

All cars basically have serial numbers. Its located in the VIN, arranged around the other mess of numbers and letters that stand for other stuff. As far as like the number in my sig, well that's bc its an SS like previously stated.

No, nothing to do with how many they made (actually, by 2002 they were making more WS6s than base T/As).

The reason is because the build number info was compiled and retained by the companies that did the conversions (SLP for SS/Firehawk, ASC for the WS6). People that have this information are not getting it from GM, it's from SLP/ASC, and those companies won't have any info on the cars they didn't touch.

On the other hand, you can get your build *date* from GM. Any dealer can run a VIS report for you that will list build date and all RPOs (option codes) for that car, by VIN.

Ah yes, if you're just looking for basic serial number info like that, the last 6 digits of the VIN are the production sequence numbers.

If you want something like, "mine is the 80th Z28 for 2001", well, you'll never get that sort of info. GM might retain it somewhere, but to the best of my knowledge they don't publish it.
