Default Gauge questions!

I wanted to get an aftermarket oil pressure gauge & aeroforce intercepter scan gauge.

My question is mainly about the oil pressure gauge. Which one would be more accurate.. A mechanical or electrical? Or does it even matter?

Also, are they all pretty much the same accuracy? I really dont want to pay $80 for an autometer gauge, but will the $20 summit gauge be the same thing? Am I just paying the extra for the name on the gauge rather than the quality? IDC if it lights up in 10 different colors.. I just want an accurate gauge... If it works.. I'll be happy.

Also, I remembered hearing that you shouldnt use the plastic hose/tubing that the gauge comes with.. But I forgot what I was recommended to get.. Can anyone else fill me in on this also if they've heard about this?

Thanks!

I've got a mechanical oil pressure gauge in my TA(Autometer part # 3421). I'm using the plastic tube and don't have any issues with it.

If you run it in place of the factory sending unit you will need the adapter from Autometer which is part number 2268

I can't tell you about the accuracy or quality of other brands because I've only run Autometer

Accuracy use mechanical.

Theres nothing wrong with the plastic tubing that comes with the gauge kit at all, jus =t dont run it anywhere it will get pinched or cut on something.

I have an autometer mechanical OP gage in my Nova. I am using the plastic tubing with ZERO problems. The tube will not leak as long as you get a decently clean cut on the end. If you cut it with a hacksaw, then you'll have problems.
