Mine is a Non-WS6... I just lucked into the wheels. And the same color as yours I love it.

Spoken like a true WS6 owner? I'm probably the last person to be considered a nut swinger of a particular brand or a car. Before I came here I had three Fords and still would want an SVT product.

I don't care if they made 2 million WS6 LS1 cars and 18 units of total production of the clumsy looking "firebirds" that happened to be powered with the same engine. You look at the two cars coming at you, or going beside you at any angle from 500 feet away you can tell something's up with one of them.

My point was if the OP had a firebird, yeah sell it, get rid of it and upgrade to a Vette.

This one's easy.

WS6 is nice, but if you can afford it, performance and quality of Corvette is the way to go.

Could you expand on this, quality of the overall car's build, fit n finish. I'm assuming this is what you meant.

Yes, quality of materials throughout the car is superior on Corvette. This includes interior and running gear.

F-body was designed for high performance at low cost, therefore some materials are ultra-cheapo.

Having driven *multiple* Z06's I can reassure you that the interior quality is NOT superior to the overall fit and finish than of that on the f body cars. The materials I would be willing to bet come from the exact same factory. You still get the cheap plastics everywhere along with the lightly padded dash, etc/

Paint? Well having done a few cut/polish jobs on C5 cars, and off course my own, I noticed no difference in there at all. Clear coat is the same super hard gm clear. I don't know about low cost either for f body cars. You're from canada just like me, and I think we both know what top of the line LS1 f cars would roll out of the dealer lots for.

I haven't driven a Z06, but I sat in one. In comparision, my WS6 felt like it was made in China for Fisher-Price.

Also, I prefer cast aluminum suspension arms over stamped steel.

Listen to me!!!!!

I traded my 2000 500 hp car in for a LS3 2008 Base corvette 6 speed. And yes there is a diffrence. There is no comparison Period. Between an Fbody and a Vette especially an 08 with the LS3. I had H/C/I on my Trans am. It was fast but I still think this vette in sig can beat it. I traded it in for it. I say yes get a vette newer model.

I think its a tough choice between the C5 and the WS6. Its a no brainer for the C5Z or C6.

Find one and go drive it, you'll see what Im talking about.

No arguments on suspension components. Two *totally* difference cars in those aspects.

but if it was me. (my car is paid off) i would keep my current car and save up for a vette. why sell something that is paid for?

Same with me. Why trade in/sell something so charished and loved by sooo many? As soon as its out the door, you will start missing your WS6. Save up, finance, whatever it takes to get you a Vette, and then you will have 2 awesome cars!

Thats why I have 4 cars....

Keep the WS6. It's way 5x more rare on the roads. Vette's do drive quite nicely though!

Demends on the vette. If its a frc or even a targa 6spd then I would do it. But if its a auto or convert. Ws6 all the way even auto

Yep, hard to beat the C6 w/ LS3. I'd go that route too, if I move on to a Corvette. But a C5? No thanks. Any V8 F-body is better looking than a C5, especially the C5Z or FRC, those are the worst looking C5s ever IMO. Honestly, just skip the whole C5 deal and hold out with the WS6 until you can afford a C6.

The corvette C6 has looks and very easy power potential than any other car out there today. With just full exhaust headers etc tune and cold air intake, the 6 speed are seeing minimum with good tune about 420-430 rwhp and over 400 TQ. Cam only vetts are gettin 480-500 rwhp with mild cam. Driveability is great.JMO

Yeah, I've never cared much for the C5 going back to when they were first released, though I do like the targa coupe in certain colors. Then came the FRC design (in '99 I think), which lots of people seem to like but I think it looks foul (body lines of the car don't flow with that roof design). It's like they took the 'vert roof line (which also looks bad with the top up) and made it into a hard shell.

The WS6 is much better looking than the c5, and you would do all the same mods to both so why switch? You can get practically the same performance out of the TA. Just like the other guys said, everyday I see like 10 vettes driving around. I don't even give them a second look. But when I see a nice TA/Camaro, man I can't keep my eyes off them.
