Since I cant see the original post because the mustang site wants onlookers to register to look like they are bigger then they really are, I cant see the DA or where the car was run or when.

I already did.

If it was corrected to a 12.8@110+mph... That is pretty impressive. You guys are taking a car with 200 miles that is not broke in (will only get faster with a bit more miles) that just came off the street and ran quicker/faster than 99% of ls1s run in stock form and comparing it to some of the quickest/fastest times ran in good DA/good drivers/cool down time/etc etc etc..
The cars are impressive any way you dice it.

What was the DA when you trapped 106?

Let me know when you run into one on the street with a competent driver in a stock ls1.. You won't be happy, at all.

hmm dont see it.

you don't agree more power from the same car will not require a more skilled driver to yield the same potential?

Would you like to tell me what I am wrong about?

Cool story... But one thing, his SS was not stock with Nittos on it, period. No matter how much you want to argue it, it wasn't. They have already posted up the corrected times.

Simply put.. The ls1 is not faster/quicker than the 2011. Some of the quicker/faster ls1 times (good DA/good drivers/etc) faster/quicker than the VERY few 2011s that have been ran with hardly any break in and no time to learn the car? Sure.. But you are comparing two cars that are similar in weight (within 100#s IIRC) and one makes around 75 more Rwhp.

Ls1s are getting passed up. Just like it happened to the Lt1 and the fox. It took a LOT longer for the ls1 to start getting passed up then it did any other platforms but it is happening, the gap is widening more and more every year.
Is the ls1 still holding its own? Sure. But you must remember when comparing times, these cars have been out for 10+ years now where people have ran at multiple tracks with multiple DAs with multiple driver skill broke in etc etc etc etc... Comparing to BRAND new cars with no break in miles in most cases (with the weather the entire country has been having) not so great DAs and even if the driver is good, they have not had time to learn the car.
The ls1 on the street is still a tough contender, ESPECIALLY when modded. But in 3-4 years it won't be too impressive if the pony wars continue at this rate.

I'm just being unbiased in the situation and calling it how it is. If it hurts your feelings so be it. Mod your car more or stop caring what something is doing just because of the name. The 2010 Camaro was running slower times than this when it came out, have you seen a new Camaro run an fbody? It is not pretty. Ls1 can hold its own, but it gets walked. The 2011 GT is a drivers race for the 2010 SS, with the edge going to the GT (especially with the optional 373 gear). Maybe that will put it into perspective.

You didn't have to spell out anything. I had to write up a page explanation of what I meant because for some reason you couldn't comprehend my very simple- to the point - original post.

And yes, I was throwing *facts* out, not opinions.

Maybe since I broke this one down you might be able to comprehend part of it.

What I think are facts?

More power? What are we talking a few ponies in better DA? Not nearly enough to make it harder to launch. It WILL net better ETs with better DA, period.

They posted the corrected times, they couldn't have been running in very good DA at all if the corrected/uncorrected times were that much of a difference.

Yes it took Ford a while to build a Mustang GT that could compete with our 10 year old cars. I am not & never was a Ford nutswinger but I do like this new GT from what I have seen & heard of it so far. Its a sharp looking car & it has a nice interior layout. The only thing I dont like about it is those rear tailights. At first I didnt mind it but I saw one at a car show. The more I look at them the more I hate em. Nice car but I dont plan on buying one anytime soon. Was that 13.2 run an auto or manual? I witnessed 2 brand new 08 Z06s run when they were new, the one ran a 13.2. Dont blame the car on the time it ran.

i have to say it needs a driver mod lol. i would like to drive one to find out for myself if its truly a 12sec car or 13s. it does have a optional 373 gear, but also has a monster 366 first gear in the m6 transmission. i've never saw a first gear that low in a street car

Want to bench race? We have a section for that. It's not here.
