Thinking of throwing a D1 procharger on a 5.3 how much power could i get out of it safely ? Would also have a cam installed too. Just wondering how far i could push it with boost and be safe thanks to anyone with info

ive seen on some other forums where some have pushed it to 20+ psi but i seen where alot said about 8-10 lbs would be safe

I think it depends more on how much horsepower/torque the motor can handle. The boost just helps it get there.

how much hp/tq can a stock 5.3 with cam handle ?

Its an iron block it'll take more than a aluminum block will 12lbs is perfect, it has low compression so hit it with everything you can. I have a cammed 5.3 with stock heads that puts down 335hp and 315tq. i know for a fact it can handle more. The real question is can you???
