That was acutaly going to be my plan lol i was looking at the tvs1900 kits from new era or maybe a turbo. I would rather have a ls2 but for that price (12,500) with only 58,000 miles and an m6 i think i would be happy with a ls1 gto most likley but on a maggie and exhaust and be done.

For 12,500 and those miles jump on that GTO. Then Call Hendrix Engineering who is running special right now on TVS 1900, 2300 and even better on the old 112.

You will be in the mid 400s with the 112 with it and exhaust and could obviously go quite higher if you swap pulleys and such.

This would give you the best of both worlds. You would still get over 28mpg with the M6 and when you want to play you get to hear the whine

Yea im waiting for my uncle to get back from vaction and ill sign the car to him. Nice thing is its still in the family so i could talk him into leting me drive it. But as soon as everything is all set ill go check out the goat. I was looking at another 04 m6 with 27,000 for 15,000 i may be able to talk them down. I think i would pay $1500 more for 20,000 less miles.

thats a helluva offer for your t/a. i dont think i could pass that up. (as u can tell from my name) im not to high on blue oval products, so getting a goat would be the way to go, imo. actually im kinda in the same boat u are... im thinkin about sellin my pickup to get an o5-o6 gto and swaping the stuff in my wrecked 99z into an older chevy 4x4 so i still have both, a truck and a car.idk where your located but on my local cragslist (nor.cal/so.oregon) ive seen nice 04 m6s as low as 10-11k. the cheapest lS2s ive seen are around 15k. theres also a procharged o4 in the S.F. craigs for 17k with only 36k miles on it...but its yellow lol...so i guess im just tryin to say make sure you hunt around, there might be better deals out there

good luck

popular mechanics ran a 13.4 in a Lightning launching from second gear spinning, so they aren't slow. I have heard of the blowing piston problem though. very cool trucks, but terrible DDs. in this case go with the GTO, you'll be much happier with it for your intended usage.

This **** is on sale. It's like it was meant to be OP. Stick with a PD SC though. Centrifugal SC's sound good and all, but you won't be happy if you love that roots/twin screw whine like I do.

I think that is too much for a LS1 GTO. My friend got an LS2 M6 with 62k for less than 12 almost a year ago. If you want a GTO shop around and you WILL find a really good price on one.

I used to have an 04 Lightning and LOVED it!! if you thought the blower was loud with just an intake, you should hear it pullied!!! With just an intake, pulley, and tune my truck made made a heatsoaked 399RWHP/524RWTQ.

It did drink gas like it was going out of style though. Ended up trading it for my wifes WS.6.
