I baby my cars, always have even when I was 16 driving my 98 Dakota 4X4. Maybe once a week does my SS see above 3k RPM. I drive slow over speed bumps and don't go up steep driveways.
The R6 on the other hand...I push that a little more

I had one in my 3rd gen. Finding a mounting location for the unit and a non-permanent antenna was super easy on that car. I've never been able to figure out a suitable mounting situation in my 4th gens though.

Maybe a spirited run on a highway when traffic is scarce, but I try to avoid abusing my car. These never felt like the type of cars to abuse to me. Granted my Z28 is no showcar or collectible, but it has never let me down and I figure I should return the favor.

I bought my first Camaro in 1997. It was a white 95 Z28 hardtop LT1 6-speed. I loved that car, but yes i did drive it like I was filming a Dukes of Hazard sequel. I hit some local train tracks at night going over 70 mph bottoming out the car shooting sparks on more than one occasion. Every single time their was open road ahead it was full throttle.
I miss that car, but I basically destroyed it. It leaked from both windows and the rear end was blown twice. Went through three clutches in 5 years. Was t-boned twice - neither time my fault. Amazingly the car still looked good and was still powerful as hell when I sold it in 02.
My new Camaro - I baby in comparison. Not having a Camaro for nearly six years really made me appreciate this car. I drove a Cadillac Deville, Buick Le Sabre and a Jeep Sahara during my Camaro Sabbatical and have vowed that I will never be without a V8 muscle car again.

cars are meant to go accelerate as much as the pedal allows, otherwise they wouldn't be made as powerful if it were detrimental to the engine.
that being said, i have a few friends with lesser cars that WOT all the time and everywhere they go. that is one of the most annoying things ever. just because your car is fast doesn't mean everyone enjoys it when you show it off.

Oh, I have to look for post from another forum, but supposedly that guy in General Lee Corvette used to never drive his cars in the rain, let alone do that. Supposedly he details them back up. LOL. I'll find the forum again soon. Oh, and there are times since I don't drive my car much that it's driven like it's stolen!

I am guilty of doing that to my 98 after the wreck. Had all four wheels off the ground on a dirt road in the middle of Nevada (forgot about one dip). I was shocked that i wasn't leaking like a sieve afterwards.
Once the swap is complete, I think i might put the body on a truck frame to have a 4x4 TA to go skiing in.

158,xxx and i wont even let my dad rest a beer on the spoiler unless theres a towl under it... hell and im only 18. I guess i just know that if i beat my car and pull dukes of hazard stunts ill loose my baby(no homo) i mean i guess my car might mean more to me then some people in this forum(not most) but some, partly because its my first car and its an ls1.
Regardless you should want to take care of the items you hold close to you and appreciate the times when your putting buses on cars, not drifting a turn like were in Tokyo or something. To each there own lol

I like to have fun, I mean these cars are meant to be driven, not be garage queens. Mine's my DD so I don't redline it every time and burn rubber everyday. I like to get up to the speed limit fast (which is very easy) and most of the times drive over it. Sometimes I'll get loose when making a turn, but seeing as I've only had the car for 3 months, I don't know how to control it fully. Eventually I'll learn how to control her all the time. Then I can have some real fun.
Until then, I'll be saving up and making her faster, which means more time to get used to her lol
