Okay so maybe not jumping rivers and busting thru barriers, but who around here doesn't think of their Fbody as a beautiful exotic car and treats it more like a beater... a beater with a cam
?
I think a better way to ask that question is to ask: Who rips around corners on dirt/gravel roads in their fbody and doesn't worry that they're devaluing a work of art... a work of art that has historically had "heartbeat of America" featured next to IROC in a trailerpark... ?
Not saying that I don't take care of my car, but in the same token I don't exactly think of it like I would a matching numbers 69 Z28 with a 302... or some other type of highly sought after collector/show car.

I baby mine and crawl over speedbumps. I realize what it is but still wanna keep it as nice as possible and still drive it 3-4 times a week. And as far as these cars go my color is pretty rare....
When i picked my kids up from summer camp today had a boy about 7 say "cool car man". I replied "you have good taste"

I keep my speed endevours pretty tame. I don't like ragging my cars out. I like all my vehicles to drive properly and without mechanical problems. I guess I'm an exception to the rule though. Most f body owners just beat the **** outta their cars.

I drive pretty crazy, always drifting around corners and hauling *** no matter what car I am driving be it the 70 Chevelle, SS, T/A, 70 Camaro etc. I use to go mudding in my 95 Camaro and Chevelle. The Chevelle was beastly off road because it sat kind of high. I was always showing my friends up because they like to crawl through mud holes and that's why they would always get stuck.
I don't really care, a good hand wash and you could never tell. I don't beat on the 99 WS6 though, I do have some fun every now and then but I don't go off roading and stuff with it, that would be just stupid.
Craziest thing I had ever done was about 70mph over the railroad tracks in the 95 Camaro. The sound of the car slapping the ground was terrible.

Who cares if the car is rare/collectable/super valuable? I take exceptional care of my cars because I like to have nice condition things. I don't really give a rats *** about how common or rare it might be.
Some people have 100k mile F-bodies and complain about how poorly their cars seem to behave (squeaks, rattles, thuds, poor road manners, etc.). Mine still drives great at 100k, I have no complaints.

Yeah, worse would be headers or oil pan scraping it.

When i was 16 and had the ls1 put in my car going from a 3.8 was ridiculous i had the only car at school who could properly rip a few donuts. other kids were spinning 1 wheel half *** dounts in their s10's and ****. so i always had to show them whos boss. the principle however did not like this to well ha.. lets just say i had to bum rides to school for about 3/4 of the school year ha..
now i drive tame almost all of the time. but i occasionally take her out on some country roads and open it up.

I used to buy ragged out MKIII supras and use them to crash into trees, do donuts in the field, jump into/through/over the stream by my house, and any other retarded **** I could think up. I tried jumping one off of a 15' high pile of wood chips and that turned out poorly. I went through about 4 of them before I moved away from there.
I keep my f-body nice because its my only car now, and I like to take car of it. If I want to beat the **** out of something I'll go find a busted down 5.0 and give it hell.

Take a look on craigslist people beat the hell out of these cars. That IROC in the trailer park was once loved too. I like my cars nice, clean and running strong. But people beat on them and don't know how to fix them...score for us, get 'em cheap.

Thats true, lol. Burt Reynolds + Fbody = serious Fbody abuse. On a side note, the noises that came from the trans am in that movie were recorded from the 454 that they used in the movies two lane blacktop, and American Graffiti... not a pontiac 400.
It sounds like most of us drive our cars like we intend on keeping them nice. I've got some body work that must be done on my car, but other than that it still looks/drives nice. It doesn't squeak bad, but stuff is finally starting to break (like window switches) and it needs some work.
On a smokey and the bandit note, who has a CB in their car?
