Guess you got a set that was made on a Friday afternoon.... as I said I have 219,000 + miles on a set and they look great...I would have called Pacesetter or the vendor that you purchased them from if I had that problem. I know at least a dozen people that have them and have had no problems with them. If you go by a Rolls-Royce dealership you will notice that their service departmant is just as bizzy and your local Chevy dealers. Not everything is perfect in this world.

Yeah i guess i will go with pacesetters, heard alot of good and a little bad but thats expected. plus i heard the fitment of pacestters is pretty good

Oh, not complaining about them, I paid $400 a couple years back and never had any issues. Daily driving for a couple years in all sorts of weather conditions in WV and KS (including snow and salty roads) just eats up the ceramic coating. Cleaned them up when they came off the car and aside from some surface rust and the coating being gone, they were fine.

I'd still take a set of ceramic coated over painted, I just wouldn't recommend anyone expect the coating to last forever unless they just weekend warrior their car.

hell yeah thanks matt, I guess they come with the y-pipe ceramic coated for $500, And fitment is good?

Not sure if the Y pipe is ceramic coated too or not. But every review I have read, the people say the fitment is great, and nothing has to be removed from the car to install the BBK's. I'm planning on going the BBK route or TSP soon, but for the price I think its hard to beat BBK.

Had I known this when I did my LT Install, this is what I would have done instead of spending the cash on extensions.

I really like the BBK headers & they do fit really well. I just installed some ported heads & because of the ball flanges on the collector they come apart real easy. Just loosen up the 2 flange nuts. Then I just set them aside & finished doing the heads. Pacesetters have slip fit flanges so it seems they would be harder to seperate. I bought the ceramic ones so they were $500 free shipping with the Y & include sensor extensions & header gaskets. I would say these are the best budget headers.

Here is a pic of the Y-pipe. It is actually 2 pieces & has a special slip fit clamp. You can see it has an 02 sensor bung in each pipe, great for a wideband. It also has a great merge, similar to a flowmaster style. The Y is not ceramic coated but still a very nice piece. The Y-pipe is one of the reasons I bought the BBKs. I originally planned on buying the pacesetters but I found out their Y was not well made & was recommended to get the TSP Y with the pacesetters but that it hangs low. Then I found everything in one complete kit with the BBKs.

^^^ this is what I did.
Why spend in between? Dosent make sense to me. Either buy stainless or get the cheap ones. (pacesetters)
I had stainless on my 98 but decided to get cheap on this car. Only difference I can tell is looks....

Pasesetter coated LT's. Well worth the money. Had them on my old 94 Formula and now have them on my 02 SS. Make the extensions yourself and save some $$$. Theyre easy to do.

I am assuming you went with the pacesetters & TSP Y. Pretty sure they are a slip fit design, which might make it a PITA to take apart later on. Wanna post up some pics when you get them? Also how much ground clearance that Y has, I heard it hangs lower unless they corrected it. Thanks.

Yeah i went with pacesetters it was between those and bbk. My decision kept going back and forth and when i got ready to order the bbk's they were on back order not shipped til the 27th. yeah i will post pics next week. Thanks again for info
