Registered as "Unrepairable" What to do?

Cali is just out to get money. You can't not pay the fees and re-do the registration, you have to pay to register "non-op" and its only slightly cheaper.
They fucked me over and registered a car I sold back to me over a year later and now claim I owe them back registration fees. I told them to eat my ***. They'll probably end up garnishing my wages to get it.

Yes not the same but a similar metaphor. We pay taxes every year and its also based on the value of the car every year. My tag is over 100 but my dads 97 silverado is close to 300 every year. Yeah I know GA sucks they get us every way they can. I hope the OP just calls the DMV or tax commissioner and get this handled. I hope we get updates. OP any updates yet? Did my research and once you a car in CA is registered as nonrepairable, it can never be registered again. Only sold as parts or scrap. Thanks for the help guys
