is this a true SS?
i am looking at buying this camaro from the dealer and i was just wondering if you could tell if it was an ss or not without the rpo codes. they are selling it as an SS with 47k on it so just making sure i am not getting screwed on it. here is a link to the pics.

When you call SLP, have your VIN written down. They will also be able to verify it and give you a car #. Looking for the WU8 code is your easiest bet though, since you can visually see it and you dont have to make a call.

screams clone to me. Check out the spoiler. Unless it was replaced it's not original. It's an aftermarket one. The stock ones should have a seam along the backside lip as they are not molded one peice spoilers. That one appears to be once peice.
Factory: (notice the seam at the top)

P.S. although at some angles the spoiler on it does appear to maybe have that seam

It looks legit to me. The SS dash plaque above the radio is an option on SS cars. The wheels look legit, as does the logos, hood, and spoiler. This car should have the "SLP added content" stickers inside the passenger door jamb and the stickers should at minimum state that it has the optioned chrome wheels. If those stickers aren't there then its a clone or been repainted. Fail safe is running the VIN through SLP or at compnine website.

you can also look on the inside of the drives door if rim size is 17 with 275 tires its an ss
im pretty sure the z28s and v6 only came with 16 rims and 245 tires
correct me if i am wrong
and they could have swaped to a ss door that had the sticker but i highly dout it haha

THIS
Why do these threads always get needlessly complicated? An LS1-era Camaro SS will be a WU8 car. RPO code WU8 = car is an SS. No WU8 = not an SS. It is really that simple.
Now, if the RPO sticker is missing: run away.
If the RPO sticker looks reapplied or otherwise played with: run away.
Really simple.

Next question, how long has it been driven around without an air filter?
