I wish i still had my camaro, but it was in a tragic mishappening I posted about it last year around this time..... matter of fact it died on thanksgiving, I remember because I didnt eat any pie that day I was so sick.... and I love pie

The Vette is my only LS1

Need to update my signature.....

So does that affect ya'lls votes?

I want the truck I'll admit, but I dont want to look back again and think "damn, I missed the ws6 again"

Thanks for the responses

I know I should make my own call, but its soo much easier to listen to the popular vote and go with the flow

One to show off, fun and sporty. The other, well, to haul your luggage and good for shade in the summer time.

If the WS6 is on your list of "must have before I die" cars, then you should probably do it. I used to really want one too, then I had it, now I've moved on, but I don't regret buying it (just wish it had been a Formula WS6).

Honestly, that's probably the worst possible thing you can do. Nobody else has to drive this car but YOU. Take the experiances and opinions of others into consideration, but never make your final decision based on popular vote.

So when are you going to admit that this whole thread is a ******* joke, and you were just yankin' our chains?

Reliability: Both suck. Very, VERY BAD. Having said that, Chrysler is WORSE than GM in reliability. Having said that, I am going to go against the facts and tell you that the Trans Am is going to have many more problems than a BRAND NEW vehicle.

Adrenaline: I don't care if the Trans Am is a V8 and the SRT is a v10. If there's one thing chevy EVER got right it was their V8 motors. That T/A is gonna put a huge grin on your face every time you lay into the gas . Don't get me wrong, the truck will too, but, it's a truck. I mean, seriously, come on.

The Trans Am.

My personal experiaces with LS1 F-bodies tell me otherwise. 99k miles, 9 years old, everything is factory original other than alternator (80k miles), water pump (90k miles), one power window motor (95k miles), and normal maintenace items. That is FAR from "very, very bad". But that's because it's remained stock (other than a muffler and air lid). People who say these cars are very unreliable have either modded them too much for daily usage or bought poorly maintained/abused vehicles.

No brainer for me. Never cared for the dodge truck build quality anyway, but I would say the same if we were talking about a Joe Gibbs supercharged SS truck or a Lightening.
My roommate has a short cab 6 speed SRT-10 truck. It handles really well for a truck, the big tires and brakes help a lot. From riding in it, I would say its about on par with a stock Z28 or T/A as far as cornering ability. Not a rain weather vehicle though, it takes a lot of care not to spin the tires even with the most conservative driving.

One problem with that truck, its hauling capacity is 600lbs, so its not even a half ton truck. Also, the spoiler keeps the bed from being really useful.

Agreed! This has been the most reliable vehicle I've ever owned. IDK what he's talking about.

If you beat the **** out of it, expect problems.... Just like any other car.

Wish I could agree with you guys, but my '97Z has been nothing but problematic since I got it. You name it, it broke, sometimes twice-except for the motor. Granted, I bought the car with 24K on the 'odo but that's way too young to have the harsh/abused life excuse for it. Would you guys believe I never, ever peeled out once in that thing, yet the 'tranny went at 70K, even with two fluid flushes before the failure. That's just one example. I could go on and on.

Now, my '99 seems to be behaving itself. I've theorized that the LT1 generation is just cursed, but only time will tell.

'OP, I haven't read this whole thread but if reliability is a concern for you I wouldn't be looking at GM's or Chryslers...Maaaaaaaybe Fords...

Biggest problem with the truck is that anything with that God-awful Dodge V-10 sounds like a bucket full of ********. Period.

I've owned my car for 3 years. 85k-115k miles, and so far the only things I've *HAD* to replace were the thermostat, brake pads, PCV valve, idler pulley, and intake manifold gaskets.

Witnessed what an SRT8 Jeep can do when pushed hard and its awd. Those are very close to a stock f body in handling.

But the fbody improves WORLDS with springs/shocks...never mind bars and other tweaks.

You have to work twice as hard to make a truck do what a decent platform car can do.
